This is a GREAT FIND. A gem!
My fiancƩ and I have been on the lookout for great coffee (since 2022). We first interacted with one of the sisters while attending Panda Festival on Dilworth Park. We finally were able to checkout the place today. We ordered:
Colada: poured traditionally on a cloth strainer. We asked for dark roast. The smell when it first was handed to me was just smooth, rich in flavor, but light on the senses. I donāt know how a rich, dark roast coffee can be so light at the same time. The best part is the coffee actually wakes you up and gives you energy! (This probably explains how the owner has such great energy and vibeā sheās amazing!)
Bombon coffee, served with condensed milk: just the perfect blend of coffee and sweetness delight! This is a bit heavier than colada, of course, but itās still does not leave you feeling heavy. Itās just heaven disguised as coffee with condensed milk š¶āš«ļø
Freshly baked Colombian Pastries: we ordered one of each that she had for the day. One was cheesy and the other was cheesy and creamy. I canāt decide which I liked more. Theyāre both great in their own ways. My recommendation is to get one of each of the pastries thatās available for the day. You wonāt regret having them. In fact, you might end up coming for more, like we end up doing.
Cortadito: we ordered this, the same day, after having both colada and bombon (Yes, we love coffee that much and this place is just THAT GOOD!). To my fellow āļøcortadito loversāļø: THIS IS IT! āØHIGHLY RECOMMENDāØ

I got a cappucino and my friend got both an espresso and pineapple refresher. We also got to sample some delightfully moist and flavorful carrot cake. Our first visit was stellar! The coffee is well-prepared, the service is impeccable - friendly and fast. I can't wait to see this place take off! And the best news, there will soon be plenty of seating so you can enjoy your morning cup right there with Maya.
Also, I was super excited to see that there are food options! My friend and I were just stopping for coffee, but you can be sure I'll be ordering sandwiches, pastry boxes, cakes, and more in the future.
Small note: It's so cozy and family-oriented. There are lots of pictures of the owner and her family on the walls and beautiful little bits about Nicaraguan culture. I really felt like I was supporting something great AND drinking something delicious. It's wonderful to go to a new business and feel like it just belongs - Cafe Duskaia will be soon be a staple in the Italian Market.
They take both card and cash, but cash is (of course) preferred.
Go now! It won't be a hidden...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy friend stopped by this cafe while waiting for an appointment and brought me a Latin Mocha on a whim which is a mix of oat milk, almond, cinnamon, and vanilla. Iām a big foodie but thereās few things I donāt like in this world, yet almond milk is one of them. As they handed me the coffee and I saw how big it was I was already having the internal monologue of how to fake through a sip, or how am I gonna break it to them kindly, and also feeling bad about the waste.
I went into the sip thinking I knew myself, and preparing myself to be kind and pretend I like it ā¦ā¦ If only you could see my expression in astonishment as I tasted thisā¦.
The flavor was incredible. Itās the perfect mix of sweet, creamy, slightly nutty, and all goodness. Those additions complimented the coffee so well.
Iām excited to have this addition to the neighborhood, and knowing that Iām supporting a family-...
