I did not feel welcomed or wanted at this bar as a black person. Me and my husband were the only black ones in the restaurant/bar during the eagles game today and we watched as all the white customers got served before us. For example, we came with another couple- white couple, sat at the bar-it wasnāt obvious we came together, we all placed a order of wings with the same waitress at the same time - their food came out- ours did not- we waited 30 more mins before we asked for a update- the waitress came out after we asked for the update and apologized- 1 min later the same waitress brung wings to a white couple behind us- we waited another 20 mins- no wings- but saw the waitress bring 2 other white customers food- third time asking for a update- we received a apology but still no food. My husband gave a generous tip to the bartender for our drinks hoping that this would show that our money spends just like others and we really wanted our food. This did not help, after a hour and 22 mins and 3 inquiries later after we placed the order for 10 wings-( this was not even a big order)- food arrived. Very disappointing. Our original bar/restaurant recently closed and we were hoping for a nice place to watch the football games- this is not it. Please note- this was not a issue of a crowded restaurant and delay in food- this was a issue where all the white customers got fed before the only 2 black customers got fed- it was not discreet either- white customers who came into the bar after us- got food before we did. Sad!
Also- the bartender used his unclean bare hands and put ice in my glass to make my drink and used his hands to put lime in my drink- touched money and dirty napkins off the bar, then without washing hands or using a ice scoop or utensils made my drink. I did not watch when my first two drinks were made so Iām unsure if this occurred all times- but when I ordered my 3rd drink while still waiting for food- I watch and was disgusted at the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreYesterday, my sister and I visited Curranās Fox Chase for the first time. We are so happy we did.
Jim Kelly was our bartender,. He was so nice. I asked if he could put on the U.S. Open Tennis for me. Sure enough, when we walked in, it was already on the big screen TV . I was so happy!
Monica, our food server was also really nice and very attentive. We chatted with her for a bit. She was super friendly. It felt like weāve known her for a long time.
We also chatted with several people at the bar. Everybody was so welcoming. They all made us feel comfortable and right at home!
As we were leaving, we noticed DJ Mike. It just so happens, he is from our old neighborhood in Oxford Circle. Of course we stopped to talk with him, and also sing along to āDoes anybody really Know what Time It Isā. It was appropriate that we really didnāt know what time it was, cause we had so much fun!
Thank you Curranās for a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI got there after 10 so the kitchen was already closed I asked the bartender where I can still get a pizza delivered, she gave me # . When the pizza arrived I asked for plates. That's when she told me that we cannot eat outside food in there. I think that if she had half a brain it would have been nice had she told us that before we had the food delivered i understand the policy but I'll never come back while she's working again. She didn't even apologize. I have to get her name. I'll b calling...
