Drunken Jerk Chicken — Restaurant in Philadelphia

Food is good, but they work on island time. We ordered jerk and fried chicken for take out which said 15 minutes. We showed up 20 minutes after the order was placed and they hadn’t even started on it.

They asked if we still wanted the fried chicken bc that would take 20 more minutes to which we agreed to switch it to jerk chicken due to the wait. Lo and behold, the jerk chicken still wasn’t ready 20 minutes after that. Who knows how long the fried chicken would’ve actually taken. Overall, we waited an hour for the food from time the order was placed. And only one other person was there so it’s not like they were super busy.

If you're looking for authenticity, flavor, and personality, eat here! I realized the reason I wasn't a big fan of Jamaican cuisine is because I never had the real deal before. I got the rasta pasta and a few sides and couldn't put my fork down! If you're not a fan of cabbage, don't sleep on theirs - just try it! The cabbage you tried before is likely trash compared to this lol. The jerk chicken melts in your mouth and has that amazing charred flavor, and everything is perfectly seasoned and spiced. I ordered curry chicken, Mac&Cheese, cabbage and a side of yams. Firstly, they fill the bottom on the container with rice to lessen the amount of chicken you get. The chicken was so shredded it was so disappointing. I had more chicken gristle than the actual chicken 😂. The cabbage was horrible which I’m actually surprised by. The mac&cheese was dried out and literally taste like noodles and cheese(didn’t have high standards for that anyway). The Yams was good but definitely overcooked and all mashed up.
