Please, DO NOT EAT - I’m VERY SICK. I run a tight schedule, and only had time for one meal a day. I thought the vegetables would make Honeygrow a good place to go for my one meal of the day. I lost 5 pounds in 6 days from eating there and nearly constantly excreting. I will detail my symptoms by day and observations by day. Day 1, ate Honeygrow. I felt a lil something but didn’t think much of it. Day 2 ate Honeygrow. I felt slight cramping, thought my period might be early. Day 3, ate Honeygrow. Strong, uncomfortable cramping. Head felt a bit warm, assumed it was negligible. Day 4, pain woke me from my sleep, had diarrhea. Quickly became liquid diarrhea due to frequency. Also had nausea, fever, and chills. Chills were new, I think it was 92 degrees outside. Loss of appetite. Ate piece of bread for entire day. Drank tea once and occasional water. The cramping was bending me over. Constant diarrhea and shooting stomach pains. Fever with headache. Took antibiotics. Fighting not to vomit at workplace. Took Nyquil to attempt to break fever. Day 5, constant diarrhea and STABBING STOMACH PAIN. I must be honest, I’m 32 and I messed myself. Constant diarrhea, now including blood. Terrible stabbing pains in abdomen. Reduced fever and headache. Still pain over eyes - might be specific to this so I’m including it. The chills were reduced, still needed a long sleeve in 90 degree weather. Was able to walk and drive. Took Imodium, pepto, and antibiotic. Ate 2 pieces of bread, juice, and water. Today is day 6. I had some juice today. My stomach feels like I’ve been physically pummeled directly under the skin. No appetite yet today. My fever is only slight, and I’m still a little cold. Slight nausea, and slight appetite. Considerable recovery from previous days. Less cramping, though still present.
I’ve been taking antibiotics, immodium, and pepto. I have eaten 5 pieces of bread, 2 cups of tea, juice and water since the last time I had Honeygrow.
If I touch certain spots on my stomach, it PHYSICALLY HURTS! I lost 5 pounds. If I could’ve afforded the time off all my jobs, I would’ve hospitalized. I’m still cold, just not as bad as earlier. Just don’t eat here. No food is worth this. I’m still in pain with no appetite and no energy. I’m finally out of diarrhea, but I’m also out of energy. I’ve never been sick like this from food - not this bad. I’ve never been so unpleased to lose weight. I will reach out to authorities, this could’ve put a someone of lesser health in a much worse position. I’m 32 with good health - 5’6” 139 (previously 144) pounds.
Please don’t eat here. Don’t get people food from here. I detailed in hopes that you could imagine this pain as your own and avoid it. The taste was basic at best, though the price exquisite. Please, the convenience of this place can cost your actual heath. Don’t eat here. I ate Honeygrow and only Honeygrow for 3 days prior to this. Any small misnomer is negligible - this experience tanked my week and possibly my digestive tract. Please, avoid with your life. Thanks you...
Read moreMy friend and I are students for the summer at a nearby university. The two of us ordered from Honeygrow at 12:30pm on the machine, one after another. The staff told us that the wait time would be 30 minutes. We still wanted to try this restaurant since it had been recommended to us, so we each ordered one stir fry. I also gave my phone number to receive updates on my order.
At the time of ordering, there was already a large crowd gathered at the counter, waiting for their orders. My friend and I returned 30 minutes later to find that our orders had yet to begun being made. We had to return to an in-person class at 1:30pm. Even though we ordered at the same time, my friend's order finished at 1:15pm and my order finished at 1:30pm. We both had to run back to class and were late.
The customer service was extremely frustrating, messy, and disorganized. In fact, they were quite rude and seemed annoyed with all of the waiting customers. When anyone asked for an update, the staff would just snap, "Give me a minute, I'm busy," and say that the food was not ready yet. They also showed a lack of empathy that we were all waiting so long. The staff working at the packing counter were also disorganized, constantly fumbling over the bags and napkins. My friend also saw them hold their phones while wearing the gloves that they used to pack the food.
In addition, they messed up both my friend's and my order. Her order lacked cilantro and my order lacked peas. The only reason I didn't give a review of 1 star is because the meal still tasted decent, but it was definitely not worth the one hour wait.
I received a notification on my phone that my order was ready at 2:37pm, long after I had...
Read moreWe are a late dinner there on 12.30.23 at the University City/ West Philly location. Upon entering, the friendly staff behind the counter proceeded to list more than half a dozen things they were out of and blamed "higher ups" for not supporting them. Again, they were friendly and pleasant, but it was obvious they were frustrated at not being able to have everything that they were supposed to have. One of the many things they were out of was CHICKEN. That was definitely disappointing. I asked one of the staff behind the counter what dish/combination they recommended in light of the missing menu choices. He said he liked the beef and broccoli. So I found a beef and broccoli lo mein on the menu and ordered that dish. When it came out it was very good. However, there were only three or four pieces of broccoli in the container. I've never had that before at Honey grow to compare it to previous times, but it sure seemed like there should have been more broccoli based on the photo on the menu. Regardless, the meal definitely was very tasty and I would order it again. We stayed until they closed and the staff person who came to us and told us they were closing up was very friendly and pleasant. The whole time we were there, there were lots of customers coming and going, mostly takeout/door dash, so they were busy up until they closed the doors for the night. All in all, I would go back, but I would think twice before going in the evening for a late dinner for fear that they would be out of many items...
