If I could give this negative stars I would. I stopped by a friends house a few months ago and he was eating one of Leonettiās Stromboli. It looked so good and asked him where he got it. He said Walmart. It was so cheesy and smelled so good. I went and bought like 10 of them and couldnāt wait to eat one. I took a bite and no cheese so I kept eating and no cheese. I cooked another one thinking I got a bad one. I cut it open and it was basically ground up pepperoni inside dough as seen in picture. Not a trace of cheese. I put cheese in it myself and closed it up and cooked it a little longer. My friend got some and said his were the same way. Obviously they have done something wrong with the production or decided to cut costs and deceive everyone buying them to think that you are getting something pictured on the box but you arenāt. Do not buy these unless you basically like a pepperoni burger wrapped...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBought these on the weekend based on what the pictures on the box showed. Wow, was that a bad idea. There is no crisp crust, layers of pepperoni or cheese. Dough never crisped up (using directions and cooking it longer), just remained soft like a burrito. The filling was nasty. Ground up pepperoni and some fake cheese to hold it together. I can't believe they try and sell this as a "Premium Stromboli" (according to the box). I get that trying to take something fresh from a restaurant and mass produce a frozen product will be different, but there is no way this is how the product should looks or taste. Won't be buying this again. I guess if enough people buy it once, they can stay in business.
I wish there was a way to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI give a 3 reluctantly...however, do not use the plastic as instructed...the taste that plastic puts on it is horrid! Just bake normal in oven at 350 for a little longer, don't bother with a microwave...if you do microwave, beware of a nasty taste in your mouth from the plastic.
Update to company response: I recommend based on your response, "of the best way to cook is in the oven", then remove the "microwave plastic" instructions and make it oven only. It's extraordinarily deceiving that a microwave "hot pocket" is actually not that, you don't even recommend microwaving something that you are selling for...
