My boyfriend and I went for a more casual anniversary dinner after hearing about this place from friends who live locally and a TikTok we saw. And man, our expectations were high but they were blown out of the water. The atmosphere was welcoming and we were seated promptly. Our server, Jess, made our anniversary dinner extraordinary, she recommended her favorites on the menu and was incredibly knowledgeable in Meetinghouse’s offerings. She was friendly, willing to answer any questions we had, and was attentive throughout the night, making sure everything we ordered arrived to our table promptly and was to our liking. She also informed us of the rotating specials, we went during Thursday burger night, and will have to return for Saturday steak frites night. Now the food, everything we ordered was amazing. We had the clams, crab dip, roast beef sandwich, and a burger. Portions were fair and we both walked out full. The herb butter on the clams was so amazing, and the crab dip was a great pick for a warm May evening. The roast beef sandwich was flavorful and juicy, and the burger tasted fresh and was cooked perfectly (we were so excited to eat it that we didn’t get a picture). And for dessert we had the cherry cheesecake and the baked pineapple, which is a bread pudding with pineapple mixed throughout. The cheesecake was surprisingly light and the perfect level of sweetness. The baked pineapple was so good we would come back just for that, my picture does not do it justice!! I had the Mount Pleasant and as someone who enjoys a not-super-hoppy IPA, this hit the spot and accompanied the food we ordered well. I would 1000% recommend this place if you can take the trek out to this neighborhood!!!

Incidentally arrived on steak night special Saturdays. The menu is small but mighty and the steak is a great and very tasty meal. Came for the virality, stayed for the food.

Never did I think I’d go to a restaurant for its roast beef sandwich. And then I met Meetinghouse 🤷‍♀️ A friend and I dropped in for dinner last week and grabbed a seat at the bar. It was an enjoyable experience from start-to-finish, and the attention to detail was impressive! The bartender kept our glasses full and not *once* did we have to directly place our order. She kept her ear to the ground and took her tending more seriously than most. I was kind of… starstruck? We ordered the green salad with Dijon vinaigrette along with one hot roast beef and one cheeseburger (a Thursday special). While the green salad was delicious, it is not something I would order on a first date lmao. You’re instructed to eat it with your hands using the lettuce cups as tiny green vehicles for the rest of the greens; an experience, but not a pretty one. The roast beef was OK and needed a bit more gravy for my taste. The cheeseburger was the highlight of my night and was totally reminiscent of a McDonald’s burger. I mean that in the most complimentary, nostalgic way. The minced onions added so much flavor. We washed our meal down with some vino. I got the red wine, which was a zippy cab franc - chilled and soul-hugging. Their beverage menu as well as their food menu was simple yet upscale, and I look forward to going back to try their turkey cutlet and baked clams!!

Last weekend for Micheal’s birthday ww went to an absolutely delightful restaurant in Philly, Meetinghouse located @ 2331 East Cumberland st., in Philly Pa!, The food was absolutely over the top. We started out with apps of crab dip, a green salad w/ Dijon vinaigrette, baked clams w/ garlic butter, shrimp, cocktail, roasted oyster Mushrooms in broth, 😋 then…….oh my God our steak dinners! I believe it was a 5 1/2 ounce steak cooked, medium rare, to perfection! The boys got a slab of blue cheese on theirs 🤯 I did not leave a morsel on my plate and neither did they! Even the french fries were over the top! Guiness and wine 🍷 🍺 Dinner was followed by delectable desserts 🍨🍰🥮 I happened to let it slip it was Michaels’s birthday to our server Nick, and a few yummy surprises came from the kitchen , for their good friend ❤️ Baked pineapple, cherry cheesecake,crème brulee’ and of course , a candle on the ice cream for their birthday boy! Topped off with a surprise of spirits, we all got a shot of Amaro 🥃 The service was impeccable. Our server was Nick and Jesse came to the table several times to meet us chat with us and brought Mike a ☕️ with his cheesecake 😊. We had the pleasure of meeting two of the three owners, Drew and Colin, and so many of the other staff. It was like a family reunion. ❤️ Highly...
