Merzbacher's of Germantown — Restaurant in Philadelphia

I like to try new places, so when I read about Merzbacher’s I ordered a Malty Bread, French Toast bread, wheat and everything Philly muffins. I was hungry so took a piece of Malty bread and ate it in my car. It was dry. The everything philly muffins are VG and wheat had too much of a sourdough taste to me. Maybe Merzbacher’s should use a white whole wheat flour?

The star of the order was the French toast bread. It too was dry straight from the bag and was not good toasted. BUT, microwaved in a slightly damp paper towel for 20 seconds the flavors come out. I came today after seeing the listing for.Good to Go I wouldn't be able to pick up for tomorrow and saw that they opened at 4pm. It took a minute to figure out the exact location. The bread is warm and fragrant. I can tell its going to be delicious. I usually get my sourdough from Trader Joe's and love to make fresh homegrown tomato sandwiches with it. Decided to try Merzbachers and see what the French toast loaf was about since I'm craving French toast. The best place for your bread needs just at the edge of the Germantown Neighborhood of Philadelphia. One block from Nicetown. Great connections using public transportation buses: 2, 23, 53, 75 within one block. All regional rail lines except the Norristown Line, will stop at Wayne Junction Station just across the street.

Great selections in bread products. Some items maybe seasonal. Not able to come into and buy or sit down. You can also find Merzbacher's in Rittenhouse Square, Center City Philadelphia (The Downtown) they always have a stand.
