Mi Rancho Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Philadelphia

Well I was convinced by the picture against my own judgment and ordered the crazy pineapple (piña loca) The description sounds entirely enticing and enjoyable for my cold cold Saturday. The description states chunks of pineapple and protein mixed with peppers and onions and topped with cheese. It comes with Rice, tortillas and refried beans. I ordered mine with shrimp and all the above is true EXCEPT no PINEAPPLE CHUNKS NOT 1 tiny little chunk. The beans were bland and so was the rice. The tortillas were not homemade they were the regular soft tortillas store bought. The first layer will disappoint based on the dishes description but once you get to the bottom of the dish there’s a sauce and if you take your knife and try to cut off some of the pineapple meat that’s left on the pineapple (mind you it is not a lot.) then you will get 2-3 magical bites the shrimp is lightly seasoned with only salt and pepper because the pineapple, pepper and onions with a drizzle of the melted cheese are supposed to bring out the natural flavor. I personally would had seasoned the shrimp a bit different but I understand the mission. The presentation was a 10 I will say that hands down 10 on presentation but the overall this dish is a 2 lots of personality on paper, lots of potential in reality big disappointment is the final judgement save the $25.00 and get something else besides that the people are nice. The person over the phone very polite and prompt. Just work on the seasoning and next time more than 5 tortillas or at least more rice.

First time trying this place bc I moved to area heard nothing but nice things. The ambience and the vibe of the place was great. The food is good. Was hoping this was going to be go to spot. But the man manager and the one waitress made this experience bad they Both are terrible humans. Rude disrespectful and just plain non existent they weren’t courteous or anything. I stood at the host stand forever waiting to be acknowledged to get told and brushed off “oh idk sit whereever” felt like I wasn’t annoying them just by being there. There were only two other families inside I was alone they were not overwhelmed or busy so idk if those two employees were fighting or going thru something or beside I was a solo eater idk but their demeanor and whole interaction with them was absolutely horrible. Finally even tho she was slammed I grabbed the other waitress who I was watching absolutely kill it and asked her if we could do the whole ordering process and everything again bc their other rude waitress was barely paying attention idk if she even got my order right. But luckily I told the other waitress. She was so lovely and she should get all the praise probably not coming here again bc that waitress works so hard for prolly no praise and the manager the other staff are...

So there are good and bad, When we first came in it was slow I was taken back by the club music it was cinco de mayo…. But when we walked in we were told to seat anywhere, so we sat waiting for our order to be taken we are looking at the menu, I see another table come in after ok then we place drink order, it kinda was a long wait waitress didn’t even come back to ask for out food order or water we had menus and chips I see the other table get drinks I’m like ok maybe theirs was easier to make but then they got food I went to the bar and expressed how long we were waiting…… After that “misunderstanding “ the night went well they were apologetic even gave us dessert on the house, NOW PSA!!! They added 15% gratuities on the bill not once did I see that on the menu nor did anyone tell me it was added to the bill so me not knowing tipped the waitress 20$ on a 86$ bill which was really only 76$ since they added 10$ for a tip I wish someone would had told me but that’s my fault for not looking at the bill so they got 30$ tip from me all in all good good nice place just should be more on point with...
