Sid Booker's Shrimp Corner — Restaurant in Philadelphia

I have been going here for YEARS in in my 40s and the shrimp has always been really good. I am sad to report they fell off. I literally went 4 times in a month and was told to stop going but I held on to blind faith and was disappointed every time. One day I asked for extra ketchup and idk if they was mad but my shrimp were drowning in ketchup and I couldn't eat them after buying a dozen (wasted $22), I had my children trying not to waste it they couldn't eat it either. I asked for fries done well and they taste just like grease. I finally tried the coleslaw and it tastes like Acme coleslaw (not good). I hate writing this but it needs to be known. Rest well Mr. Booker 🙏🏾🦅🕊️ but they're letting the quality go down. I do love the new step addition to the front and hope they add a railing...the older people could really use that! I will wait a while and return maybe they'll read this and fix what ever the problem is. Yesterday I was second in line for opening, I've went in the afternoon and late night as well. Figured maybe it was the cook though it's not hard to fry shrimp 🤦🏾‍♀️ I also asked for one cocktail sauce and was sold 2. The girl at the window wasn't paying attention because when I walked up she was trying to buy socks off of a hustler and ignored me. I had to ask him to place my order (I think that's why they drowned my shrimp...I wasn't trying to be smart I just wanted service) personal business shouldn't come before...

Funny last time I was there macaroni salad tasted little dif and wasn't as crazy about it. Assuming was an off day and they over cooked the noodles or something tho cause normally always good. Also I see people in other reviews talking about the chips, I have never ate them and always assumed they were just there to soak up any grease and make the shrimp better, which works well. I didn't think they were supposed to be part of the meal 🤔 maybe I'm wrong but it didn't seem like it lol. Also def not tiny shrimp. A dozen is always like 2 meals for me 😆 also would love if they had some kinda drinks like just cans of soda...

Sid Booker's is a staple in the city of Philadelphia! They have some of the best shrimp in the city! The taste and bite of the shrimp is always consistent, but you do have to worry about long lines and the potential for nefarious activities to happen around you since you are on Broad and Belfield and you have to wait outside. However, people still go so don't let that small part stop you from experiencing some of the best tasting shrimp this city has to offer. There are a few bars that I have been to that can compete with them. Two of them are outside the city! After a long night out, you can expect Sid Booker's to be open as well!
