T & F Farmers' Pride — Restaurant in Philadelphia

A friend of mine said the chicken salad there was good. He called and they said they were about to close. We were able to make it there with about five minutes to spare. He purchased a pound of chicken salad and a quarter pound for me. He also purchased a couple other items. He paid the cashier and the cashier put all of his items in a box. My friend immediately took my quarter pound of chicken salad out of the box and handed it to me because he purchased it for me. The cashier accused me of stealing it and I think it was racially motivated because I am black and he is white. I didn't like how he talked to me. He was rude. The customer service was horrible. I’ve driven past T&F Farmers Pride plenty of times and always clocked the steady crowd outside—so I finally pulled up to see what the buzz was about. The market is clean, the staff is friendly, and the ordering process is smooth.

I went with an Italian hoagie. The seeded roll was fresh, the toppings were crisp, and the overall build was solid. But they use “Dietz & Watson” deli meat, which I’ve never been a fan of, and this hoagie didn’t change my mind.

The cut was too thick, and the texture didn’t land right. Flavor-wise, it felt flat—like the meat was just there to fill space, not elevate the sandwich.

I respect the operation, and I can see why people keep coming back. But for me, the hoagie didn’t hit. If they ever switch up the meat or offer thinner cut slices, I’d be open to giving it...

(FYI: Cash Only) Great food and excellent service. The staff are friendly and fill orders promptly. The hoagies, bbq pork sandwiches, etc are made to order and are delicious, filling and reasonably priced.

Additionally they have tomato pie and other various food options /snacks.. They also have a variety of drinks, snacks, and toppings so that you can make your sandwich however you want at home.

This place is great and well worth your time for some excellent food. The only issue at all is the limited size of the parking lot especially given the number of customers that come to this establishment in a daily basis. Completely recommend coming here for lunch, dinner, or just a quick snack. They'll get your food rock and made to order however...
