I bought fresh spaghetti from Talluto’s, it is the first and last time I will be a patron of their store. I told the lady behind the counter I was making carbonara on Saturday, purchasing my pasta on Thursday afternoon. She told me fresh would be better than boxed, that it would keep until Saturday, and make a tastier dish.

Long story short, I am very glad I bought boxed pasta as a backup or I would have had nothing to serve my guest!! The fresh pasta she sold me was three times as expensive, infinitely lumpier, and terribly less edible. What a disappointment.

I knew as soon as I unwrapped the pasta I was in trouble. When I peeled back the paper a clumped together mass of half way dry pasta greeted me. “No worries, Talluto’s promised this will be good” I naively thought as I plopped the pasta into my salted water “two minutes from now I will be eating perfectly cooked pasta”. Lo and behold, after three minutes I had a pot half full of mushy noodles, and half full of hard clumps of pasta. Zero of the pot was full of edible spaghetti.

Thankfully I can say user error did not come into play since cooking instructions are printed on the inside of the paper wrapper. I followed them meticulously - but like any treasure map made with the sole purpose of confounding it’s holder this guide brought me no closer to the treasure of perfect pasta. What a night.

If you would like to spend less money for the same result, try throwing some raw flour and egg into a pot of boiling water and see what happens. The result of this haphazard cooking method will approximate Talluto’s fresh pasta. I...

Guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! – Talluto’s is the real deal. This little gem is exceptional and buzzing busy all the time. We were first introduced to Talluto’s on a food tour and purchased fresh pasta to make our own dinner at home. We chose the cheese ravioli and the vodka sauce. Oh, my stars?!?! It was heavenly. The store also had the most amazing fresh stretched mozzarella cheese. This is cheese on an entire different level than anything you have ever tasted before. I’m told that it’s in such high demand that they make it three times per day. We also purchased fresh bread by the register and made yummy garlic bread. Do not miss out on this store. We even came back the morning before our 9 hour drive home to make purchases to take home for family… it was that good! Keep up the hard work, Talluto’s team. You all...

Talluto’s is great. My kids go to school not to far from the store. On certain days they will make the fresh pasta right in the front of the store and my kids love to watch through the window. All of the pasta we have ever gotten from here is delicious. The ravioli is our absolute favorite. The cheese is so creamy! It’s insane. Another favorite is the lunch meat. Every thing is super fresh and sliced how every you like it. Double wrapped and handed to you with a smile. It actually stays fresh in the frig for a good while. I’m telling you once you shop at Talluto’s you’ll never buy grocery store pasta or deli meats again!

Side Note - the sample cheeses set out on the counter will reel you right in. Ha!...

Talluto’s has been a long time favorite of mine for the past 20 years. I come here to get sheets of fresh pasta (or I’ll have them cut it down into linguini once in a while), fresh breaded chicken cutlets, Roman artichokes, fresh mozzarella, and their gnocchi...just to name a few! The staff is friendly and always helpful! Like many shops in the Italian market its small so if you don’t like being in a small crowded place then send a friend or loved one in! Lastly, they often have specials on Groupon so keep an eye out!

THE BEST MOZZARELLA KNOTS IN THE CITY! I stopped by with my husband to grab something quick and tasty to eat on the way around Italian market and we had the best mozzarella knots. The quality of the food here is really high and I can’t wait to be back in the area to stop and buy more food. Truly recommend this little shop!
