Unity Java - Umbria — Restaurant in Philadelphia

I moved close by and haven’t had a chance to pop in until today and man was I missing out! I just needed espresso to make an at home latte, and I will absolutely be going back to try more things! First off, the black cold brew, and quad shot were QUALITY strong coffee❤️ second, while I was waiting for my order, I saw they have a community fridge, narcan, recovery stickers, and just and overall cute, hip vibe. Many people in my life are sober/in recovery and I am always looking for spaces to hang with them that are welcoming and safe and this place is 10000/10 for that❤️ I’m so excited to go back with my friends and family to try more things from them and check out more of there spaces nearby! TL;DR; Excited to see this coffee location in Rox/Manayunk. Will definitely be heading out to Unity Java in the future for a Third Place option.

Been looking forward to Unity Java opening over the last few months. Was very excited to see that the location was in a soft opening this morning while on a walk. Stopped in for coffee, a muffin, and a breakfast sandwich. While waiting for the order to come out was able to check out the upstairs area. The vibes were very chill, colors were pleasent and it was set up with plenty of outlets for working from there. Also upstairs there is a coffee bar area that will, I'm sure, be a happening spot.

Chocochip muffin was fantastic, coffee was great, Breakfast sandwich on biscuit was hot and fresh.

They have multiple options for gluten free and vegan as well.

I stopped by here for a snack one day. I ordered a limited edition drink (I forget the name) and a pepperoni pizza bagel. The drink was pretty good but could have been better/more complex in some way, if I recall correctly. They were out of pepperoni and gave me some sort of fake vegan meat substitute that wasn’t very good, although overall the pizza bagel was good.

The service was good. The barista was very friendly and helpful.

The atmosphere is rather uncomfortable, with quite tall ceilings in a style that recalls of brutalism and invites irritating reverberations. At least the interior is black and not white, so that one’s eyes are afforded mercy.
