**PLEASE READ ! ! ! TRUST ME....when I say, DONT eat here,DON'T eat here. I am NOT saying their food is bad,I am NOT saying the owners are bad ,or unfriendly people. However, this restaurant DOES NOT deserve anyones business until they wake up. I am unfortunately sure my experience is NOT uncommon with Chinese restaurants/ takeout. Their ( Ruby's) food handling practices are almost criminal,at minimum, grossly negligent.Recently, I was in the back part of their kitchen. There was a stainless steel vat of RAW chicken, stewing in a slimy pink liquid, 3 foot from the open back screen door, which btw had big gashes in it where flies can easily get in (and they do) , land on the rim, eat, and probably lay eggs . This btw was all going on when their kitchen was 80+ degrees. It DOES NOT take a rocket scientist to understand what happens when raw MEAT sits,in high temperature throughout the day. If these owners have no problems doing this , just imagine what the rest of this picture looks like? Look , I LOVE Chinese people,I really do, I love their food too. They have a GREAT culture. So I am NOT trying to hurt these hard working owners. But, they need to WAKE UP and truly understand how they are handling their raw foods is not only wrong, it's downright DANGEROUS ! NOTE : A good sign ( not a guarantee ) that a restaurant is clean, and the owners are serious about cleanliness is what their air conditioning return grills look like. If they are covered with clumps of lint, dirt ,like they were NEVER EVER vacuumed, be VERY weary. Trust me,I am in the field that starts with H and ends with C. Most people never think about this but if a restaurant does NOT take care of and maintain their HVAC system, this can and WILL compromise the cleanliness / sanitary conditions of their kitchen. Every time the systems blower comes on,dirty air filters WILL pull dirt off filters and blow it ALL over their food prep area like that slimy 20 pound vat of raw chicken I witnessed . My advice. IF......you can ever find a Chinese Restaurant, where you know for sure the owners are very serious, and conscientious about keeping their kitchens clean, give them ALL of your business. Cuz,this is thee ONLY way Chinese restaurants will get better over living in China, their cleanliness standards are behind the rest of the industrialized world. Hopefully when new generations of owners take over ,who were born here, and fully comprehend the importance of sanitary food handling practices AND clean kitchen/ restaurant means,we Chinese food lovers will see a rebirth of Chinese Cuisine. To ANYONE who may read my review. Once again,I am NOT saying their food is bad cuz I truly do not know. I am only going by their food handling practices. ...
Read moreI had an horrible experience with this restaurant. The delivery guy "Bill" was very rude and disrespectful. My bill came to about $12.30. I gave him $15.00 I sat and waited for my change, had every intention on giving a tip, might have even let him keep the remaining balance , but I wanted him to give me that option and instead of just pocketing the money and going. His response was "I don't carry change". I told him that was unacceptable. He then went into his pocket and gave me $3. By this point I'm extremely irritated, but I still gave him a $1. He began to yell very loud the only thing I could understand was "call them and tell them to fire me"!! I'm assuming he meant call the restaurant. He yelled this to the top of his lungs as he began to walk towards me as if he was going to attack me ! I backed up and asked him what his name was, he yelled "Bill my name is Bill" !! MY response was ok Bill I will call. He stormed out of the hospital I work at. I immediately called the restaurant told them about my experience, and they seemed to be the least bit concerned. Initially, a child answered the phone I told her I needed to speak with a manager. She put me on hold and said that I can speak with her. I told her I needed to speak with an adult. The woman who came to the phone said that her name was Judy I believe. I explained what happen . She said she would "talk to him". My response was "that's it"? She said yes, and hung up the phone. I never experienced anything like this in my life and was truly afraid for my safety. I will never order from this restaurant again and will tell everyone I know not to!!! Beyond disappointed !!! The food was good, but had a hard time eating because I completely lost my appetite after...
Read moreToday I was very disappointed with the service I received from This Ruby Chinese restaurant where I have ordered food several times. I went to pick up my food, paid for it and notice they gave me no duck sauce, not the first time. . I asked for duck sauce, the owner gave me 3. I asked for extra duck sauce because I like duck sausage with my food and 3 was not enough. She told me NO, and stated that if I want extra duck sauce I have to pay 50 cents for one. I told her I was not paying for duck sauce. She offered me soy sauce. I told her I don’t want soy sauce I want duck sauce. Can I have 4 more duck sauce please, she said no, you have to pay for extra. She said, “everybody wants extra duck sauce. We are a small business and cannot give everybody extra duck sauce”. She said, if you go to McDonald they only give you 2 duck sauce. I told her, I don’t eat McDonald and don’t care about anywhere else. I paid for my food and would like more duck sauce. She said, I can only give you 2 more not 4. If I did not already swiped my card I would have just walked away and leave the food. I took the 2 extra duck sauce and walked away. She had the nerve to say “thanks for understanding. Instead of telling her what I really wanted to say. I kept my composure knowing that this place I bought so much food from will never get another penny from me. What’s the deal with the duck sauce anyway. Is there some kind of mystery behind it why they are so stingy with it? The experience made me not...
