The only reason why I'm giving it 3 stars is because the staff is friendly. I thought things would be different because they changed owners, honestly couldn't stand the last one, and I refuse to return to his other establishment.
I decided to stop in because I work in the complex. First time in for lunch break they caught the mess up, no big deal I actually thought they turned a corner. However I was disappointed with the food. I mean if you're going to charge 3 dollars extra to put chicken in a quesadilla at least put some chicken in it. It literally had two to three pieces of chicken in each piece and it was small. Not exactly worth the 9 dollars it cost to get. That was my first experience going back.
Second experience, no issues.
Third experience, I get some street tacos, I specifically ask for no onions on them. I have ordered some street tacos every time I've been in there and each time I ask for no onions, that was actually the mess up the first time, the same person took my order all three times... I actually said it twice no onions, and the person taking the order repeated it back to me. When the food came out he actually opened the container and looked at it and still have it to me. Now, if this was just a normal order I would have taken it back, but since I'm working I can't exactly close up shop and go back over there to get new ones. This is kind of a big deal because I'm allergic to raw onions. So needles to say that was money that I just had to throw away. They also knew that I was at work.
Food is good when you actually get what you ordered, staff is friendly, but a little green. Eat there at your own risk if you have food allergies.
A little pricey for what you get if you ask me. Would love to support local small business considering I work for one, but I'm just not prepared to go to the hospital when it comes to food allergies. Probably won't be back even though I work in the complex and it's a quick place to get food, probably Uber eats...
Read moreTL;DR - the tacos we got from Bonitas were overpriced, underwhelming, and almost completely flavorless. Maybe we just ordered on a bad night based on the rest of these positive reviews, but my husband and I will not be coming back to Bonitas as it stands now. First of all, we ordered 6 tacos and a single side of rice and beans and we ended up paying $43. Nothing special or fancy, just the standard shredded beef and chicken tacos. That already left a bad taste in my mouth. My husband ordered at the restaurant for takeout and came straight home after, about a five minute drive. We sat down to eat about 5 minutes after that, and when we pulled the tacos out, they looked like they'd been sitting out for an hour. The shells were so soggy at the bottom that they were literally falling apart in our hands. On top of that, the six tacos looked like they'd been placed into the takeout box with handfuls of lettuce and tomatoes just haphazardly thrown on top. There wasn't a lot of meat in each taco, and what little we did get was unbelievably bland. The red sauce was spicy but similarly flavorless, but my husband did like the green salsa. The rice and beans were the best part of our meal, and even they were just okay. Seriously, for the money we spent, we could've gone to a nicer place and had a much better experience. For almost $50, I expected tacos stuffed with meat that's seasoned with salt at the very least. Not impressed and will very likely not be making a...
Read moreI'm not sure if it's new ownership or if management just loosened up policies, but this place really went down in customer service. The foods good, sure, but I would not say it's worth the trouble 70% of the time. There's an older woman up front who had little to no patience explaining TWO different menu items and when an order was finally placed - she gave us the wrong food. I didn't even want to go back due to her demeanor in the first place. I wasn't over charged, at least. Finally, there's a teenage girl working the front sometimes who bags whatever comes out of the chef's window without checking receipts or throwing salsas, creams, sauces, etc. And just hands them out to whoever ordered it. I sat and waited for 15 minutes for my own food - she had 3 people walk up and ask for their order to be completed, salsas, and one person who went to the bathroom had their plate picked up - which angered the customer.
Hope they turn...
