Burger Shoppe — Restaurant in Phoenix

This little restaurant should be a travel destination, if not just for their breakfasts! They take the time to blanch (partially prepare ahead of time, as many good restaurants will) their hash browns every morning. When they they are actually cooked and served, they are thoroughly cooked, yet crunchy on the outside and softer in the middle. The cook is a chef who knows how to prepare food in advance for the best eating experience, and that extends to their absolutely fantastic omelette selections, among others. Perhaps the best hat tip to find eating establishments, in my opinion, is the extremely generous portions, which are absolutely priced modestly. This isn't cheap fast food. It is high-quality ingredients prepared expertly, and delivered much faster than expected due to fresh preparations of ingredients each morning. Now to the taste. I haven't had a breakfast that I enjoyed the taste of as much as I have Burger Shoppe for years. It was fantastic, from the fresh chopped flavorful tomatoes, to the cheese and meats in my omelette. I am still raving about the great taste of the hash browns. The quality, quantity and price are winners, with the great feeling of a business that truly cares. The front counter staff was phenomenal. Our person was sweet, kind, and incredibly helpful in making our food choices. They have maximizes comfortable space in a small restaurant that is a pleasure to eat in, with ample room to spread out and even watch the news on the T.V. which was at a comfortable volume without blaring. It was as close to home as possible, with some booths unable to hear the T.V. and others interested to have a booth closer. It also has lunch and dinner selections that include burgers that appeared to be expertly seasoned and prepared as well, though I didn't have room to order and eat one yet because breakfast was much more than enough! Great people, great food and dining experience...great restaurant... highly...

Update:10/6/23 This week, I decided to give this place another chance, and boy, was I disappointed.

My husband called to place an over the phone order on Wednesday at 6:25pm so i could pick it up while being 13 mins away. They told me that they couldn't take over the phone orders anymore because they were closing, but if i were to show up at their shop, they could prepare my order.... how does that make sense?! Waste everyones time while they could've gotten a head start on my order while i drove to pick up.

Then today I called to place an order and they accepted it. I ordered a pasteami sandwich, dui fries ( which usually comes loaded with pastrami and carne asada) they then told me the fries didnt come with carne asada anymore and If I wanted to add asada it would be an additional $7.99. Ummm, what?!

Once I got there to pick it up, I was greeted by a sketchy individual asking to borrow my phone inside the restaurant. The person behind the counter yelled at him to get out before calling the police. Super unsafe and uncomfortable situation.

Got my good and went home to be surprised that Their pastrami sandwich was medicore. Drenched in mustard, the pastrami had some weird seasoning. Couldn't even finish it.

After these experiences, I will definitely not be going back. This place has gone downhill, and it's unfortunate. They say they close at 7, but I passed by at 6:38pm, and their sign still said open, but the drive-through sign was off, and when passing by the window, the place was empty. There was another car waiting in front of me, and who knows how long they did before I came up. If you are closing at 7, then keep the place...

Where do I start! The short lady taking our order was so rude and answered her phone while we ordered food and just started talking away instead of taking our order. The bathroom toilet is full of poop and trash and she didn’t even tell me it was out of order or anything she unlocked it for me to go in and I assume thought I’d even sit on the toilet like that. The whole restaurant is disgusting and dirty everywhere. And then she comes and sits down and right behind us with her phone on blast watching TikTok lol We still ate our food and it was good but we really just wanted a refund but didn’t want to ask because the cook was already making our food. The whole place smells like sewage. She also went from watching TikTok to walking back behind the counter and got food and threw it in the fryer with no gloves and she didn’t wash her hands. This place really went down compared to the way it was...
