Unfortunately, today was the final straw for me as a customer at this establishment. I’ve noticed consistent issues with both customer service and pricing practices that are concerning.
During my visit, I purchased both cold (raw) meat and hot food (carnitas). To my surprise, the employee placed both items in the same bag. This goes against basic food safety practices—hot and cold items should never be stored together, as it poses a health risk. When I politely pointed this out, the employee responded by rolling her eyes, which I found both unprofessional and dismissive.
Additionally, there have been ongoing discrepancies in pricing. Items marked at one price in the butcher area often ring up differently at the register. For example, I was recently charged $3.49 per pound for chicken legs that were clearly labeled as $0.99 per pound. This kind of inconsistency feels misleading and leaves customers feeling taken advantage of.

Read moreI work in the area and go here about two or sometimes three times a week. I LUV it. I (think) it’s authentic. There’s a variety. It’s delicious and different from a processed burger fast food place. The people are always cheerful, in good moods, work hard filling orders, patient with my lack of Spanish. The atmosphere is colorful. The people are SO gracious. Even other customers sometimes jump in and help with my ignorance of what/how to order.
One time i went there later than usual due to being busy at work. The same welcoming staff who had been on their feet all day had the same disposition as over the lunch hour.
After ordering and getting my food, I went to the p/lot and ate in my car. I watched as that same employee got off work and walked across the street, still in uniform, and caught a bus to go home.
It was a moment of self reflection. I was humbled.
Mexican people are some of the most industrious, resourceful, hardworking, welcoming people on...
Read moreI ordered pozole (a Friday special) on a Thursday like an idiot. Evidently my Ubereats driver tried to call me to no avail (phone on do not disturb) but a gal who works there named Claudia kept trying to call me until it went through. Not only did she go above and beyond in trying to reach me, she was super friendly and suggested similar options they had available. A lot of other restaurants probably would have cancelled the order (rightfully so) after I didn’t answer the first two phone calls. I just want to say, the suggested alternative to the pozole was AMAZING. Can’t remember what it is called but I am a happy customer and will be coming back for more of it in the future....
