I really want to like this place! It’s close to home and the atmosphere is so charming and fun! I’ll come back and maybe try a smoothie or a chai to see if those are better, but overall for my second time, meh.
The first time we didn’t know the hours and tried to order at the counter. The gal helping said we needed to hurry before the system shut down, and just as we told her what we wanted, her register shut itself down and we weren’t able to order. Totally understand those are the hours, but it would have been better for her to just tell us no than to say we could maybe get in an order if we rushed. So we left disappointed that day.
So today was my second attempt! I tried to order takeout but after going all the way through the online ordering system to the point of paying I got a message that “online ordering is unavailable.” No info about why or what to do. I called instead and the person who picked up was not friendly but took my order. No worries; I figured they were probably super busy.
Came to pick up my order; waited at the “pick up here” spot for 7-8 minutes, nobody came out. I thought maybe I wasn’t in the right spot because it just seems like a back door so I called, and again the person I spoke to was not friendly and said, “we probably just don’t have a runner available.” Maybe a more clear sign outside that indicates they will be out soon? Again though, no worries, I can see they are very busy.
Got the food eventually from a nicer person, brought it home, and it’s…okay. My burrito definitely needs more seasoning; it’s so bland even though it has lots of good sounding ingredients! There’s definitely no salt in it so plan to add your own. It came with salsa that is also so bland and mild. And a very very small fruit cup. My husband’s breakfast sandwich is equally bland. The prices seem fair for the quantity, but the lack of flavor makes it seem overpriced.
I know working in a busy restaurant is tough, and I’m totally willing to look past the lackluster/unfriendly service if the food is good, but this food is just okay. Will try it one more time to see if we just...
Read moreMy best friend and I picked this place because it seemed like a peaceful spot to catch up with each other. It ended up being far from that.
We sat outside so we could have some more privacy and for the entire 45 mins that we were eating and talking, there was a couple of parents who allowed their multiple children to run around, jump/run on the brick walls, and jump on the other tables and chairs. They were SO loud and definitely invading our personal space. At one point, all three children came up to our table and literally played tag within a foot of where we were trying to eat.
Don't get me wrong, these kids were annoying, but I fully blame the parents for letting them run around the entire courtyard like they owned it. I don't have an issue with kids being kids. But I do have an issue when I have to shoo away some stranger's MULTIPLE children from my dinner table when I am paying for a meal in public.
There are signs posted (for a reason) everywhere informing patrons that running, and especially running on the brick walls, are not permitted. If running and horseplay isn't permitted here, it should be enforced. Not one single employee came out to talk to the family and tell them that they were being a nuisance. I watched several others around us become annoyed and frustrated, too.
It's a liability for the restaurant to have kids acting like that. And in fact, right as we got fed up and decided to leave, the youngest of the bunch fell on the brick wall and hurt himself.
In regards to the food, my friend ordered a breakfast bowl, and I ordered a burger. The burger was not too bad, but my friend said her breakfast bowl lacked seasoning, and she did not finish it. Overall, the food wasn't phenomenal, but it showed up hot. It was a little overpriced in our opinion. The staff was friendly when we ordered and when they brought our food. But given the negative experience with the kids in the courtyard, we likely won't be...
Read moreI was there on Sunday it was the horrible horrible experience. There was no where to sit. Not only did it take 35 minutes to get to 2 coffees. Our order (french toast) took 45 min and they where not good at all. It is a nice place but unfortunately it is way to small for the amount of people that go there. It was not a pleasant experience at all and I dont think I will be back and definitely not going to recommend this place. It needs a lot of organization obviously if your business has a lot of clients you need a way to run it more efficiently. Every one is waiting there for everything to start to order the line was huge, then to get my coffees, then to get my food and to top it off to get a table. This is ridiculous. Save your self sometime and go somewhere else.
Thank you for replying owner. The reason I wrote the review is because I was there on Friday and had the same experience. Long waiting for coffees, long lines to order and everyone is fighting for a table. Maybe you are understaffed, maybe its to small for the volume of people that visit your restaurant. Its not just on Mothers day. It is obviously expected on a busy holiday. But anytime I have been there it has been the same experience. But this last time it really upset because I had just been there Friday and had the same experience. My coffee took so long on friday as well.No one was on top of cleaning the tables. Maybe you should have some one sit? Just a suggestion. People obviously like your concept but its ridiculous that people have to stand there waiting for everything! Instead of such a childish response you should take it as a sign that maybe its time for a bit of change. So that you keep getting...
