I freaking love this place!!!! The hot lunch stand with the specials 16 bucks to pick 2 entries and a slice of garlic bread. Bro 100 percent but get a side of extra gravy. It's killer fresh and chuggable!!! Today I got the amazing tomato bisque and man I should have gotten the tanker truck!!!!! With there homemade sesame seeds bread hello!!!!!!!! Like I said I get like 2 combos 2 soups they have the best salad bar and I went down to the end and they have a meat section!!! Went to the frozen side to get a thing of dough and now they sell there ravioli!!! Dang gum!! Bring a fried to help you carry all the stuff!! Went to pay and the main man helped me carry my food to the front. And he was explaining and the fresh pies cakes and dessert the made!!! So I got a cannoli and so killer limoncello cake!!! Read moreIt had been a very very long time since I'd been in an honest to goodness legit Italian deli and this place did not disappoint. I excitedly over ordered enough for lunch, desert, dinner, and desert again. Sausage and peppers sandwich with sweet and hot peppers. Hots were a little extra, totally worth it. Marinara, provolone, great crusty bread, excellent sausage. Just an all around brilliant sandwich. Later I had a cold cut sandwich... The George? I think, the middle one on the board over the counter. Again, it did not disappoint even after sitting in my fridge for 5 hours. Mixed peppers on that one that was actually a pickled mix of spicy peppers, celery, carrot etc -crunchy and delicious. Meat piled high, lettuce tomato, etc. Again, just a really excellent sandwich on great bread. Cheesecake - plain, pretty sure made there. About 3 1/2" high. Perfectly browned outer layer, nice crust, classic, perfect plain cheesecake. The desert star was the limoncello mascarpone cake. Uuhhhmazing! I was disappointed that I only got one piece. Filled a small box with assorted cookies too, your typical Italian cookies, some people like them, I'm one, so also nice, and not stale. They even had sesame cookies which I haven't had in 30 years. All the staff was friendly, and helpful and I will be...
Read moreWhere has this place been all of my life? With Goodfellasesque oldies playing at the perfect volume, I ordered a chicken parm sub as and I give it a 10 out of 10. The bread was obviously made by them and I'd love to know how I can get my home baked bread to be even close to that. The crumb cake was just the right amount of sweetness, fluffy yet substantial with a hint of cinnamon in the crumb top and it did not dry out like other crumb cakes I have eaten elsewhere. The plain cannoli was better than Mikes in the north end in Boston. Yes, I said better. The service was exceptional as well and even if it wasn't, I would go back. I would share pics, but I ate it all already so maybe next time. Thanks Romanellis for being there when I can't bring myself to cook and when I need some exceptional Italian food as good as my...
