EDIT** Ok here to give an update. After reading the response to my review, I contacted the restaurant as requested. I told the manager on duty why I was calling and was told to leave my number and the owner would contact me. I was called back in about ten minutes. The owner profusely apologized for what happened and was genuinely concerned about the issue. He informed me that he had spent the week re-training the kitchen to make the lamb shank. He said it was a favorite dish and wanted to make sure it was being done correctly.
Now to hear that a restaurant owner heard about a problem from reading his reviews daily is unusual. Hearing about an owner who immediately addresses the issue and re trains, his staff on quality control and preparing a dish for a week is a standard of excellence that all restaurants can learn from. George invited me back to the restaurant to give the Lamb Shank another try. He also offered a refund and gift certificate. I opted for the gift certificate. So today, I went back with my daughter, and we both ordered the Lamb Shank. I have to say I was a little worried about giving it another try and was tempted to have something else. BOY, am I glad we gave the Lamb Shank another try! When it arrived at the table, the aroma of the dish captured your attention. The scent wafting from the dish was a blend of spices and fresh ingredients. The meat was tender, juicy, not greasy, juicy, and all the meat came off the bone effortlessly. It was seasoned perfectly and paired well with the rice and hummus I chose for sides. This Lamb Shank was the epitome of what a signature dish should be. And the staff make it dinner to remember. There is a real shortage of quality Mediterranean restaurants in the valley. Saba's Mediterranean Kitchen, in my eyes, has become the gold standard. Kudos to the owner and staff. You have earned a loyal customer. Lamb shank was abysmal. Totally missed the mark. Lamb Shank looked and tasted very old. Meat was not good tasted off and was old. Like it was cooked 5 days ago and reheated. menu says fall off the bone tender ...ha.. it was stiff and hard...Really terrible. Now I have eaten hear three other times and everything was fresh and delicious. Great staff fresh food and great taste, so I thought the lamb shank would be a real treat . BOY was I wrong . TERRIBLE and to top it off it was a three dollar upcharge. Never ever again you have been warned. Could not even eat it. My dog smelled it and did not eat it. We laughed about it but the joke is on me ... out money for garbage. Oh and no silverware or...
