We've seen this place driving by and were curious. Facebook showed us an ad. Wish we wouldn't have wasted the 15 bucks on 2 salads that we did.
Came up to the ordering thing and it took us a couple minutes to order because we had never been there before. Not a massive ordeal as there wasn't a line to begin with. We figure out what we wanted. He got the top selection, Strawberry sweet potato salad with chicken as the protein. I got a seasonal one, a harvest deal with cranberries, feta, beet and chicken. We ordered, and weren't asked if there was anything else. We were told a total.
We get up to the window and the girl takes my guys card, asks if we want forks and as he goes to ask for drinks, she closes the window. Wow.... okay. We wait a couple minutes, the salads come out and after handed the salads he got his bank card back. Why did she need to take his card to the food prep area? No reason.
Luckily, we're smart enough to keep water in the car but it would've been nice to at least split a tea with the meals.
Toppings were okay. Mostly lettuce in there which should be expected of a salad but not when you're paying this much for them. The dressing - no option given. The menu said what was paired with the salads but there could be an allergy issue and we were never asked if we were okay with the dressing that was appointed to the salad.
My guy opened his container of dressing and the whole car smelled like straight sweet vinegar. He dressed his, took a bite and said it was bitter. Not realizing I had the same dressing, I opened mine and about gagged.
The both of us have agreed we will NEVER return. We were excited to try this place as we both attack salad bars and salad places but the customer service has completely soured the whole experience of even bothering to try again....even worse than...
Read moreThere food is so good. There are many food and drink options. They don't sell soda, but they do sell lemonades, coffee, ice teas, and frozen drinks. I literally wish they would open more locations in Phoenix and Glendale. A major problem with them is the fact that they get so busy. The drive through tends to go out onto the street. However, they do have other options of ordering, like mobile order-pick up, order at the machines by the pick up window, or grub hub delivery. There food is so good and affordable it is worth the wait. I personally can't get enough of the Cobb salad and their frozen strawberry lemonade. I like to change up the ingredients in the cobb salad to my specific tastes, as I am picky about what I eat, and salad and go let's its customers change the ingredients however they want. In fact if the salad you want doesn't have an ingredient you want you can add it for .99 cents or substitute it for something that is included.
Update: new visit: Salad was really good. I tried the Sangria Lemonade. The drink was fruity and sweet. The juices in the drink give an after taste I can't stand. I probably won't get it again. If you like Sangrias or fruity drinks then it is for you, otherwise get the...
Read moreJust had my 1st experience and had to rave about it! They've mastered what they set out to accomplish: high quality fast food that is affordable and healthy. They pass on their savings to the customer when you order by app, refuse utensils unless absolutely necessary, and get the word out to more people. As of the time of this review, the current price of any salad with chicken is $5.74! That's cheaper than Chipotle, McDonald's, and the like. I was worried it wouldn't be enough food, but this is an entree sized portion and it comes in a nice shakeable container. Most importantly, this was one of the best salads I've had (I got the jalapeno ranch one) and at this price it is unbeatable. I would easily go back again tomorrow and try another -- you can't get this quality at this price at any other fast food place.
Side note about the app: definitely download it (for iPhone & Android)! I ordered on the McD's app last night and waited 20 minutes because they never got my order. Salad and Go's app was quick, easy to use, and I had my salad within 2-3 minutes of pulling in (and there...
