I am writing this review to express my deep disappointment and concern regarding an incident that occurred at this establishment on Saturday, March 16, 2025, between 12:30 AM and 12:40 AM. I have been a loyal customer and have always enjoyed visiting The Womack with my friends. However, the events of that night have left me shaken and disheartened. Out of nowhere, I was physically assaulted by a man who punched me in the face after his girlfriend confronted him about speaking to me. I did not know this individual, and his anger stemmed from my refusal to participate in his false narrative that I was attempting to purchase drugs from him. I was in no way involved in any illicit activity.
What was even more troubling than the assault itself was the complete lack of adequate response from your security team. While the attacker was promptly escorted out, I was asked to leave the premises by security guard "Peralta" despite witnesses confirming that I was the victim. People around me were shouting, "She just got hit," and "Why are you putting her out?" yet my concerns were dismissed.
I was left to gather myself outside, still dazed from the attack, with no offer of assistance or basic courtesy such as water or a check on my well-being. When I expressed concerns about being alone and walking to my car, no one offered to walk with me, and I was left to demand assistance. Additionally, security's response to my situation made me feel disregarded, and I was left to wonder if the way I was treated was influenced by racial bias.
I filed a police report regarding the assault, and I hope management will review the surveillance footage to fully understand the circumstances. It is deeply troubling to feel that black women are treated as secondary in this establishment. Given my experience, I no longer feel comfortable patronizing your business and will not be returning.
I trust that you will take this matter seriously and address the issues with security and customer care. I look forward to hearing from you soon regarding any actions that will be taken to prevent incidents like this from occurring...
Read moreNice atmosphere, quality tasty drinks, attentive waitstaff AND cool patio seating I look forward to enjoying when Arizona gets cooler. Womack could very easily be a special gem considering. I had one issue what he may not be the fault of management. I am not sure what they can do but, I worked hard all day, hiked, church and researched a place to end the evening nicely. I got some tasty bites from Maya’s vegan food truck outside too. There was a patron who came with what I am guessing was a service dog. Initially it was under the table; no big deal. After a few songs (DJ was excellent by the way) the dog and owner took to the stage to dance, then another I. The group joined, they stood the dog up and even snapped a few pics before continuing to dance with the older slim framed dog some more. They did many two song and then the group of about 6 all parades around the dog. I could tell he was attending to his owner but often lowered and shut his eyes due to the loud music which was again great for a music, lounge, bar near central Phoenix. I get they need companionship and it may be sure to health or emotional need but I felt for the animal and his hearing plus comfort. I personally had in my favorite heels and a scrappy backless dress. I gave the feel of a backyard bbq. I know they dare not say anything to the customer; it was a pleasant yet short stay for me. I will try again on a Saturday. Fido was cute and I am a dog lover but I hope to not see him or her in this bar...
Read moreI came during the end of happy hour, it was girls night. It was semi open, the bar was completely full. I understand being busy and letting the bar tenders take their time, because it’s busy. I could also tell one bar tender was talking up and being super nice, the other one, she was just doing as she was told. I walk up to the bar, wait about 10 minutes, which I’m not complaining about because it was busy. And the one that is not talking to everyone, comes up to me, I explain, hey it’s my first time here, I’m here for girls night. I also was in the service industry so I make sure to smile and ask super nicely and be polite to all the bar tenders. She’s like it’s still happy hour, you have 7 minutes until girls night. I’m like okay, thank you. I look back at the menu. It is loud in there, but I don’t have a quiet voice, she’s cleaning dishes in front of me, I say excuse me, I believe I know what I’d like please. I’m also like 4 ft away from her. I repeat again. Maybe she didn’t hear me? But I just waited another 5 minutes for her to ask, “you figure out what you would like” which I did. And I ordered. She made the drink right away. She kept giving me rbf the whole time. And maybe that’s just her, but I noticed she did it to every single person. This was my first impression of this place, and I was over it. I had one drink and left and headed to Culinary Dropout which the service was...
