Taqueria Guadalajara Mexican Food — Restaurant in Phoenix

I was so disappointed with my experience. I ordered tacos for my sons first birthday. We ordered for 50 people. Ordering was very easy and there was excellent communication leading up to the event. However, after only about 35 people had eaten, I was informed they were out of food. I was also informed by several guests who ate first that they were told they were limited to 3 tacos… 3 small street tacos is not a reasonable serving size for grown adults, nor should customers be TOLD they cannot have more. I felt the chef knew there was a mistake and there was not enough meat but tried to cover it up. It was frankly embarrassing to have guests go without food because there wasn’t enough. It took my husband going round and round with the chef and ultimately getting on the phone with the owner for nearly 20 minutes (missing his sons first birthday festivities for nearly an hour in total) before they would offer any kind of compensation. All in all, the food was delicious (or so I was told as I never got to try it) and I could even overlook the mistake if they had been apologetic and we felt we'd been fairly compensated, but I felt the customer service was very very poor considering the situation. The food was very good, but there were two main issues that negatively impacted the event:

Only a single person was sent to serve an event for 90 people. The gentleman who came was very nice and pleasant, but there only being a single person caused a long line to form.

Because there was only one person, the line would continue to build as he had to pause to cook more meat.  This caused dinner to last about 45 minutes longer than we had planned, causing us to have to push back the other events we had planned for the night.

Even though about only 75-80 people ended up staying for dinner, most of the meat ran out, resulting in people not getting enough food. A few of my family members who were helping run the party did not get any dinner as the meat had run out by the time they were able to eat.

Due to there not being enough food even though 10-15 people did not show up to the party, and the long wait lines, I asked the owner to refund me for 20 people. He refused, and said that they supplied plenty of food and that the wait time was not a problem. I would not recommend them for...

Thank you for catering for my wedding! We had about fifty people at the event and everyone had enough food and enough for seconds. Everyone loved the food and even the picky eaters thought it was amazing. The quesadillas were a hit and we ended running out of those! The man that cooked was also very friendly and funny!
