I order from the place at least once a week and spend a good amount of money here, the food is good and the spot is cute. The people in there however do not know how to communicate. I'm not sure if its the language barrier or they just want to take full advantage of whatever they can. We came in as walk ins today. We were not offered a lunch menu and when we asked for one we were told there is no difference just 2 dollar no difference. When I specifically asked for what I wanted to eat I asked for fried rice in substitution of my jasmine rice. For that I'm told it will be more, as in a up charge. Okay that's fine. When the bill arrives I see that not only did she charge me for a dinner portion when I specifically ordered from the lunch menu but she also charged for a plate of fries rice. I didn't receive the jasmine rice that comes with the dinner plate n yet I was charged for it. I didn't approve her charging me for a plate of fries rice n yet I was charged for it. When I confronted her she brings out her daughter to tell me no, fried rice does not come with it my bill is correct. I tell her they need to learn to communicate better. She still has the nerve to chase us down as were walking out to tell my mom i asked for fried rice n it doesnt come with the plate. Also thai tea is given to u in a cup have the size of the regular drinks and there are no refills. Piece of advice, find another Thai spot. The people...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI really enjoy Thai food and I have had some pleasant meals and service here in the past. However, my last visit here makes me consider not returning at all.
They lost an excellent server who has been replaced by someone who makes an effort but it falls way short of product knowledge and good table service. We asked for a cup of coffee and were told, they did not have hot American coffee. We knew they had offered that before so when we pressed further and she discovered or learned that in fact they did, and made some. During the meal she came to the table asked if we would like another cup of coffee. When the bill came we were charged for the additional cup of coffee. There was no agreement for additional charge nor was there any notification of an additional charge, so I asked that the the additional coffee charge be removed. At this point the owner came over, and had a better than thou condescending attitude as she questioned why we wanted the extra coffee removed and implied that she was sorry we could not afford it. That was insulting, unnecessary and not appropriate to say to a customer. It left with me a bad taste in my mouth rather than a Thai taste...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe ordered from Thai Lotus today and instead of pad see ew my husband got this sad dish of boiled rice with plain chicken garnished with green onions and a few pieces of tomato and cucumber. My dish was missing shrimp but that seems like a minor detail not even worth mentioning. When he called, he was asked to describe the dish he got (understandable), but then the woman on the phone still doubted him because her cook said the dish was right. She asked my husband to send her a photo of it to her personal cell phone (which he patiently did). That got her convinced, but she said that oh, he got fried ride instead! (We all know this is not what fried rice looks like). Unfortunately the restaurant did not offer us a refund (because we ordered through postmates, even though postmates did not mess up our order, just a gift card, though, understandably I hope, we donāt want to order there again), so my husband decided to go pick up the right food (no delivery). When he got there, he got the pad see ew, but also got reprimanded for even bringing up a missing ingredient in the pad Thai (āthatās what you get when you order through postmates!ā). In short: we do...
