Washington Pool Aquatics program
I’ve been using the City of Phoenix swimming programs for over 27 years, and I can honestly say this year has been one of the most impressive experiences yet. The level of instruction, encouragement, and overall environment at Washington Pool has exceeded all my expectations.
The instructors don’t just teach swimming—they help build confidence, emotional safety, and a deeper understanding of the water. As someone who took a swim class over 20 years ago and still didn’t know how to swim, I finally decided to try again this year. I’m so glad I did. I’m learning at my own pace, gaining confidence in the water without feeling stressed or pushed.
My 10-year-old son also enrolled and learned incredibly fast. The teaching style at this location truly makes learning fun and effective. Special thanks to Lucas, who taught my son with so much patience and joy, encouraging him to grow and love the class.
I also want to highlight the outstanding staff: 💧 Felipe, my swim trainer, has helped me learn more than I ever thought possible. 💧 Eric Swan, the pool manager, is always attentive and ensures everything runs smoothly. 💧 Maribel, who welcomes you with such warmth when you walk in, makes you feel like family.
This program has been a healing and empowering journey for both me and my son. Thank you to everyone at Washington Pool for the love and dedication you pour...

Large breed "bark" park and small breed "bark park, something like 11 new tennis courts with clay and lights for night tennis, basketball court and a couple volleyball courts, just added what looks like an "American Ninja Warrior" course! Located right next to a public swimming pool, 2 maybe 3 baseball diamonds (dirt infield and grass outfield) at least 2 soccer fields all under lights, many picknick tables with overhead roofing and BBQ stand's, it has grass, beutiful tree's, jungle gym for kids and an awesome bike/ walk path under lights and with garbage and recycling containers conveniently spaced along path and through out the park....and that's just off the top of my head, if you paid attention you would probably see alot of other things, oh... and it also has public restrooms that are usually well stocked! I'm also pretty sure the concrete walking paths and public restrooms are handicap accessible... And ADA compliant... I think...but I'm...
Read moreWashington Park is not a bad park at all . It's quiet it's fairly clean for the most part there's a lot of things for kids to do and there's also a dog park that's part of it that seems to be pretty popular. The only complaint I would have is that the bathrooms do not work and they have not for some time so they have the porta potties there and we all know how those are or I should say how gross they are there are some homeless people that stay on the outside edges but with my experience I haven't seen any incidents or them bothering anybody in fact I think they should just be left alone because they're just enjoying the park just like anybody else. Park rangers come through every once in awhile and I see the city maintenance working on it to keep it nice so I would give it three stars this time when some of the other things are fixed I would be inclined to give it four...
