Thunderbird Lounge — Restaurant in Phoenix

We were excited to go to the event today & specifically went for the thunderbird lounge to check out the Monster Market they had going on in the back. We bought snacks and drinks at the pharmacy next door right before we walked in. When we found the entrance, my daughter, niece & I walked in & there was no security or anyone at the door. We really enjoyed the market & the music. That enjoyment came to a complete halt when we were heading out to leave. We ran into a rude Thunderbird employee, assuming a “security” who told my niece to toss her drink, which she brought in with her. She said fine since she was done. My daughter & i walked around my niece to get outside when that same guy ripped my daughters full powerade bottle out of my hand & yelled “i told you, you can only drink that in here!” I said what is your problem! First of all I didn’t hear him say a thing with the loud music playing right by the door & second he could’ve explained himself rather than treating us like a couple non compliant drunks at 1 am. My 3 year processed to cry as she was confused why some strange grown man tore her drink out of my hand like that so forcefully. I thought this was a family friendly event. Tell your security guard or whoever the hell the idiot at the front door was with the black Atlanta Braves cap to calm down with his power trip at 2 pm when families with kids are around & learn how to talk to people right and with respect, rather than being so rude like he was. I will never be returning & will be sure to let family and friends know what occurred today so they can stay clear...

Bartender was very rude and not friendly. He seemed miserable to be working here. Was very rude. We got told that we weren’t going to be served drinks anymore because we had been dancing. This was on a Saturday night at 1am. My group of friends and I were the only ones dancing to the 70s music even the DJ danced with us and other people there clapped for us. We were calm and collective and had ordered only one round of drinks. There were another 15+ people all just sitting at tables. The atmosphere here was disappointing and boring. Drinks were overpriced. A glass of modelo especial costs $8 plus tax. Very very underwhelming. Bartender was also very discriminating to any race other than Caucasian. I noticed we got treated much differently than others. Hire new bartenders and you might improve as a business. Compared to their sister bar Thundercat lounge which is a lot better this bar deserves a 0 star rating if possible. We felt very unwelcome. Take my word for it do not come here. This was our first time here as well. I noticed many other reviews had complaints about the bartenders as well so I know we weren’t the only ones. It’s a shame this place has the ability to discriminate against people over race. Me and my friends were all denied entry over one friends actions, a man. Which is odd because the same friend/man who was considered too drunk to enter, had been granted entry only 5 mins earlier. But when we exited to meet our two friends who had just arrived, suddenly the same man was deemed too drunk. We had made zero purchases of alcohol. There was no legitimate reason they could give us for denying the rest of our parties entry. We can understand if one person is drunk. Everyone else had been acting very professional. When the second security guard came over he started pointing at a completely different person in our group, now claiming he was the actual reason why we were denied entry. This man, new person they’re now accusing, had consumed zero alcohol that day. If the security could not formulate a reason why the stories were mixed up, why the rest of the group was not allowed in, and why they allowed one patron to enter then deny entry to the exact same patron 5 mins later, then I think it’s fair to assume it’s because our group of friends were...
