**FYI THIS REVIEW IS REFLECTION OF THE BUDDYZ IN AHWATUKEE AND IN NO WAY A REFLECTION OF ANY OTHER LOCATION** Sadly disappointed. I currently live in Club West, and was really excited that I did not have to drive far to get pizza, and of course if you live in Club West there are not a lot of choices to choose from when it comes to pizza or even going out for some good food. However this was my second time coming to Buddyz, and the first time the service was good and the pizza was actually really good, in which at that time I had the butter crust pizza. I quite enjoyed it. Second time around I honestly say I will never go back and for the most part I can not endorse this pizza parlor as I would have still given a higher rating for the food, but I would get it a negative 5 stars for how the manager(appeared to be the owner) Jim/Tim(could not remember his name) treated me and my girlfriend. So we sat down, and ordered drinks, appetizer, and this time we decided to try the thin crust pizza. Already having a high expectation of the pizza I was thrilled to try the thin crust. Our server was pleasant and things were normal. Until the pizza arrived. I am not going to over exaggerate the pizza, but I would safely say that 1/3 of the pizza was burnt. The other 2/3 were not. I actually only ate one slice, and so did my girlfriend. After forcing down two dry/burnt pieces it was clear that this pizza was not by any means edible. Next I calmly alerted our server and said , this pizza is burnt, and it's hard to eat. She was nice, and said "let me speak to the manager about it" At this point I never asked for a refund, nor did I make a derogatory comments about the place or the pizza. I just made a statement the pizza is burnt and it's hard to eat. Jim/Tim came over and was clearly offended and starting to ramble off how there is one tiny burnt bubble and that this pizza is perfect, and that I was being ridiculous for even having the idea that this pizza is made incorrectly. Kept rambling on, at this point I couldn't even get 2 words out as this so called manager/owner kept cutting me off and saying that he himself made that pizza and that the pizza is perfect, and that (in his exact words) I am crying over one burnt bubble. Now at this point he was creating a scene, and acting like I kicked him in the nuts. I haven't told him anything about myself nor did I even tell him that we tried two burnt pieces to see if it was edible. He kept cutting me off, and did all the talking and was starting to get more and more aggressive, and again all I could do at that time was stand up and reach out to shake his hand to calm him down, and introduce myself. I said listen, this pizza is partially burnt, and which of course he smirked at me as if I was making a false claim, and i asked him " would you eat this?" as I lifted the burnt piece up, and he was "hell yeah, that is a perfect pizza, and you clearly do not know what a thin crust pizza should look like" We tried to communicate like adults, but he kept rambling on and made me the villain here, so he walked away with the server and I over heard him say " comp their pizza and get em out of here" I never asked for a comp, I would asked for another pizza in return cooked the correct way. However as I was leaving I approached him and said " I pay a premium to eat pizza here, and I think most people that do when they walk through this door... this is not a place to get a pizza when you are on a budget, so if you expect someone to drop $20 + on a pizza you would expect it to be made better, and if you think that pizza is perfect then I guess we have to disagree because that isn't a perfect pizza." He said I am criticized everyday, and I am judged every time and I take offense to it, so I have disagree with you that you are upset over one burnt bubble. Truly sad as I am current business owner myself and I have owned a prior Pizza Parlor past. For the owner to act in this way says a lot of him and how this place will continue to operate, don't judge their pizza!

Our second time here. We were anxious to find out about waiting time from the hostess. Our first experience was too lengthy. She assured us that given the sparse amount of customers we should be ok. We opted for a table by the window but within minutes we were baking and we were blinded by the sun. The restaurant lacks efficient sunscreens. We quickly moved to a center table. It was still too bright. They really need to address this issue especially now that summer is around the corner. We got their mozzarella cheese appetizers as starter. It tasted average and was too oily. We then order a thin crust pizza, 1/2 sausage 1/2 vegetarian. Ron liked the sausage topping, l liked my garlic spinach topping. We, however, didn't care for the "thin crust". It wasn't thin, it was medium thick and stiff, lacked flavor too. The cardboard effect was on, it didn't meet our expectations. Because the crust was so stiff, toppings were sliding off the crust. Staff is pleasant, busy and on top of things. Unfortunately there won't be a third time for us. We'll wait for the upcoming restaurant across the street opening up this summer.

We've been there several times now, and we have always enjoyed the pizza. We have ordered butter crust pan and deep dish, both for take out. They take anywhere from 30 mins on a slow weekday to an hour or so on a Friday night. Nice, buttery, crisp crusts with good chew. Plenty of sausage and mushrooms. Just enough sauce. Service was friendly, but again, it was take out. Looking forward to stopping by to eat in. Not inexpensive but worth it at least on this visit. Recently, they've changed their name to Vero, but the pizza remains delicious. Pretty busy this past Friday, which was great to see. Made the mistake of ordering a dozen of their Original Buffalo wings, though. Dry and tough don't begin to describe them. Stay away from the wings and you should eat well here.

My review should be 2 reviews as I went there twice over 3 days. The first night I got a sausage/mushroom thin crust. Pizza was great. They do need to quit telling people to call in early because some pizzas take longer than others. Not this pizza but this screwed up our salads which instead of being delivered to our table, went in a bag at the front. Not that big a deal but just make sure that if this happens to you, even when they take your salad order at the table, remind them a second time before your pizza shows up.

However, we went there tonight again and got the Loop Buttercrust pizza. This is a white pizza. Got to tell you, it was as bland as they come. The pizza had no flavor other than the crust. The ricotta was just bland and tasteless as was the mozzarella. I had to put Parmesan on it to get any flavor at all. I dont know their suppliers for these ingredients but they need to find new ones, these cheeses are terrible. In addition, we could barely taste the garlic.

Those are the only 2 items I have ordered from there so my review is limited to...
