KuBoba Tea and Cafe — Restaurant in Tempe

This is used to be one of my favorite boba places. The boba consistency and milk tea flavor are usually good. Up until a few weeks ago, I gave this place five stars. However, within the last month or so some glaring issues have arisen that can't be reasonably ignored.

Lack of professional employee attitude and store presentation On numerous occasions, I visited the store and was greeted by an employee sitting/lounging on the counter with their feet up.

On one occasion, 30 minutes past opening time, I entered the store with my friend. The lights were dim and all the display signs were off. For the next five minutes or so, we questioned whether the store was even officially open. After about five minutes, an employee strolled out from the back area unapologetically and casually asked if we were ready to order. His behavior was particularly striking due to the fact that he didn't even acknowledge the appearance of the store or that we had clearly been waiting for a prolonged amount of time in said store.

Dead bug in my drink The most concerning issue arose on my last (and I mean that in possibly two meanings) visit. I ordered my usual drink and nothing about the taste was unusual. However, as I continued to drink it, I noticed something odd floating in my drink. I sincerely hoped it was an undercooked boba or tea leaf, but I think I knew deep down inside. When I fished it out with a spoon and assessed it, it was in fact, a dead bug. I attached pictures below for proof.

Overall, I'm not sure what the underlying issue is. My guess would be poor management at this specific location. I don't have anything against the chain and have visited other locations without issue. After my last visit, I will definitely be more hesitant and cautious to return to this...

Don't order here. They started off good the drinks was good but then my drinks stared to come watery sometimes and I feel like I'm being gas lit. I call saying something don't taste right and they make up excuses. Tonight I ordered tiger tea and chai tea and the drinks got mislabeled we drank the wrong drinks. Plus the chai looks weird and I keep getting told there is nothing they can do. Not even offering to comp me for my inconvenience. I will not be going somewhere so cheap they can't comp me to make my experience as a customer better. Especially when the employee made a mistake. This whole experience irritated me and I'll be sticking with boba tree and phoenix tea places with better service and less watery drinks. I don't wanna get a good drink sometimes and when I don't like it others I can't get it comped when it's that much money.

Came here once before and wasn’t gonna leave a review but I came in again and was not impressed.

The last time I came in there was a girl in bandana who was super nice and friendly and made our drinks absolutely perfect. We decided to sit in and enjoy and noticed that there was some boy with dyed hair and glasses sitting next to the register doing nothing. The whole time we were there he just sat and did nothing even when it goes busy and the girl asked for help.

Tonight I came in and the boy was the one taking our order. He “greeted” us very rudely. Was uninterested the entire time he took our order to the point I don’t think he was even listening because our order was wrong.

It’s truly a shame because the other girl was so nice and the tea was very delicious and perfectly sweet! (Got a brown sugar milk tea) Unfortunately, I don’t want to contribute to an establishment with such a...
