Waffle House — Restaurant in Phoenix

If I could have left no stars at all it would have been too many! I stopped in on a Saturday today at the waffle House on deer valley road where I have been many times before. Thought I'd have a nice breakfast it was busy of course so I sat at the counter. There wasn't even one server that I recognize or one cook so the whole staff was new and on the other side of the counter where the cooks were standing and the waitresses were walking was literally a pile of food like hash browns eggs everything that you can imagine a spoon broken glass straws everything just left to be trampled on back and forth well they worked and this is what I had to look at while I'm eating my food. Not to mention the sloth and slovenliness of the people that work there. I mean wouldn't you think you'd had the slightest little bit of self respect and pride in your work and your work place to take 5 minutes and shovel it up with a backhoe? I mean you're telling me that there's nobody working there that is in charge of keeping those floors sanitary.? It was just unbelievable thought I was going to puke got up told the waitress why I wasn't staying I said I'm going across the road to Denny's didn't want to get in a big confrontation so just left. I will truly never be back to this restaurant until they make a formal apology and do something about their cleanliness habits. I wish the health department would have walked in about that time. Unbelievable is all I can say! I'm sorry but it's a mixture of young people and old so there's no excuse absolutely none for that kind of disregard! If I own that place I would fire everybody on the spot and hire new people. I mean how hard would that really be? What kind of stringent qualifications do you have to have to work at the waffle House lol?. Obviously none. My suggestion is keep on driving if you don't want your food...

i have been waiting to go to a wafflehouse for nearly 22 years of my life. every night in chicago i wake up in a coldsweat at 2am, reaching out for a warm, crispy pecan waffle with grits, eggs, and of course toast with the faint background noise of a fight going on. but each time i fail, and have been in a deep depression since. when we walked into this waffle house i almost wanted to drop down on my knees and cry. it was so beautiful, so empty at 8pm almost as if they had reserved the entire restaurant for me. joceline served me with the UTMOST class and was attentive during my stay at the sacred waffle house. they even gave me a waffle house hat that i will cherish for the rest of my life. i will bring my waffle house hat back home with me make all of my chicago peasants friends jealous of my journey. i have already declared in my will that i want to be buried in this wafflehouse hat. when i looked at the menu i almost couldnt believe my eyes. the all star special was only 12.50$ instead of the normal 16$. of course this was a limited time offer despite it being on a printed menu that has probably been used for the past 12 years, so naturally i got emotional once again. i was ECSTATIC to learn as well that i could substitute my boring white toast for TEXAS TOAST. we weren’t even in texas, i am still in awe they were able to transport such a commodity so fresh. the meal was excellent. it was warm, fresh, and made with all the love arizona can offer. i dined like a king, i got 5 star service from joceline, and can confidently declare i WILL be coming back. until next...

I usually go out my way to dine at this location and the service is always great regardless of being busy. On Oct 25th, 2023 My partner and I had unfortunately experienced racial tension. The place was nearly empty with only 4 tables already dining and ONLY 2 other groups of 2 ppl that came in right after us. I came in, sat at the bar area per usual and said good morning to the waitress directly in-front of me but I was ignored. We waited to be served but no one came over to at least say “one moment or give them a sec”. After seeing the waitress taking everyone’s order that came in after us, my partner had to get another waitress’s attention that had her back towards us and ask to be served and still nothing… We waited some more and the waitress that was taking orders started cleaning the place with a mop thats when I told my partner we are leaving. No one still acknowledged us… Waffle house is small enough to where you can see every seat and they have no excuse if we are directly at the bar and its slow at that moment.. after getting back to the car we waited to see if our observation was true and it unfortunately was … every other person that came in after got served immediately…. to make things clear my partner and I were the only people of colour except for the one waitress with an afro puff that was taking order that is usually nice to us except for this incident.. Once again every other time the service is phenomenal regardless who’s there working but this day left a bad mark for me and won’t be returning cause they...
