VERY disappointing! I had been wondering about this place for years after driving by it countless times seeing it all tucked up in it's little hole, and decided that tonight (Friday October first at 7pm) I thought we'd forgo our usual Mexican eatery and try it out. I'm sorry I did:â -â ( Immediately upon arriving I could tell the wait staff and everybody seemed up tight and stressed and there were only five cars in the parking lot. Literally. The Waiter was cold and not friendly. He Was very pushed and hurried about talking our order and got obviously upset when we asked for another minute to look over the menu because we had never been there before. Then Right from the beginning things were off. The chips tasted of old oil and were not pleasant and the salsa was so LAVA HOT spicy Had to ask for mild. Next I ordered the guacamole. It was ok but it was bitter. I ordered the fried chimichanga with beef tips. The portion was of good size but it was absolutely bland and lacking flavor and the meat had no flavor at all, plus I got the refried beans in stead of the rice and they turned into soup on my plate. Couldn't even keep it on the chip it was so soupy. No lol :â -â ( My partner ordered the Texas fajitas and was very upset! First of all, When they brought the fajitas to the table they were not sizzling and popping with that Lucius smoke that makes everybody say " OMG, that smells so good, I wished I'd ordered that". Instead they were nothing more than a pile of peppers and onions with meat not even seared! It was served pipping hot but that's not the point. No Sizzle is no Sizzle! Furthermore, I don't think they put salt in anything. Lightly salted or no salt is fine upon request but not using it at all spoils the savor. Everything just seemed bland. Whatever it is, there's something about this place that is just off. The only thing about our meal that was satisfactory was the queso cheese dip! Enough said. As for everything else, The pricing and wait times are average. So I have to say that i am very disappointed with this place and will definitely will not be going back again.    Read moreI really really wanted to try the spicy margaritas. None of the drinks I wanted that were listed on the menu were available, the basic drinks that are available just taste like the sugary margarita mix. The Mango margarita I ordered wasnât very refreshing very artificial in taste. The salsa is very watery, one option is very hot or just tastes like hot sauce, I mixed both of them together to have an equal balance which didnât taste all too bad. The entrĂ©e was fajitas they were okay, just a bit on the oily side. The ladies bathroom is covered in cobwebs and dust on the ceiling. Only water that comes out of the sinks is scalding hot water, the cold water doesnât work. Good for washing hands but difficult to wash a childâs hands with the water so hot. Not very clean...
Read moreThe meals weren't really photogenic đ„Ž It's like the food was plopped on the plates and brought out. My hubby had arroz con pollo y camerones. It had tons of onion, peppers, squash and mushrooms. It wasn't bad he says. I had gone to wash my hands when the server took everyone's order. He said he'd come back. We had to track him down and I ordered shrimp and rice. Everyone got their food, except me. The manager saw this and went in the back to check on my food. Everyone else was done eating. The rice was overcooked and clumped and the shrimp rubbery. Thumbs đ đ and we'll keep returning to El Agave when in Pickens. But the way, we went between 2-2:30. It wasn't busy and it should have been...
