We have found our new favorite!! We got great service (waitress checked in on us literally every 5 minutes), delicious flavored food, and just a nice atmosphere. The outside seating was great too. They are definitely one step above the other blah Mexican food in the area. My sister never eats her entire taco salad, until tonight. It was so good she couldn't stop. Most of the other restaurants chicken was tough, but ours melted in our mouths. We are making the extra 10minute trip up here from now on for sure to try more. They just brought out an expanded menu with some tantalizing new flavors like pineapple grilled chicken. Couldn't eat two plates it will have to wait. Best of all our meal for 2 with desert was $22.00.

The atmosphere is very nice. They even have an outdoor seating area. It was too cold to utilize that. I had the fish tacos I was very pleased it was no breading on the tacos. The salsa was not extremely hot which I love hot. They did have my two favorite hot sauces at the table. The chips were a little greasy and they did not offer us a refill. I asked for water with lemon I did not receive the lemon. The Texas nachos were three meals in one. The empanadas or greasy and there wasn't enough meat. The seafood menu look delicious and they had a lot to choose from.

Overall food was nice. Saw great reviews and took our family of 6 out for lunch. Wasn’t until tonight when I realized the lunch combo I ordered was not what I received (the burrito was swapped for an enchilada). Hubby paid the bill so I have no idea if I was charged any differently. The staff (family?) was very nice. We may swing by again while in the area. The menu pics online from the restaurant (uploaded a year ago) seem to be the same as current menu. Here are current combos and specials.

ordered the "its a party platter" got home with it for the family and it was missing the scallops and all shrimp were over cooked to the point you couldn't bite them in half like they became rubber, sasuage was a little over done as well but we managed in total spent 120 after tip and tax only to be let down so I called the store and they told me sorry about that and hung up on me.... so I called back and spoke with the "manager" he informed me that he would make it right and give me a number 5 no shame platter with the extra shrimp and scallops that were missing to make it right i was very happy with this decision because we love seafood.... well I called today to order the owed platter and also get my wife a similar platter for dinner they took the order and told me it would be 30 min. ( I live in easley so this wasn't a issue) so we get in the car and drive and are pulling into downtown pickens I get a call saying they will not honor that replacement to me that seems like I got ripped off on a expensive seafood dinner hope noone else gets ripped off by this...

So disappointed! Couldn't wait to try this restaurant but so sorry we did. 😞 $30 for nearly inedible fish/shrimp and some tacos. The shrimp had not had their skins removed prior to cooking. Serving in an oil "bath" made it a terrible mess trying to eat. The fish was, at most, a 3 ounce flatter than a pancake portion. Fried hard. So hard it was difficult to cut even with a knife. The 2" sliver of corn on the cob was shriveled and dried out despite floating in the oil bath. The tacos were missing the avocado and the crema was inedible.

To top it off the child who waited (brought our drinks and rang us up) on us was rude - primarily because she was a child and didn't know how to handle the first child who took our drink orders incorrectly.

Both children were the only "staff" in the front of the restaurant and it was very apparent in their demeanor and in their lack luster interactions with customers that they did not want to be there. I thought NC had child labor laws??

Will...

I gave this place deserves FIVE STARS for it's authenticity and the huge effort-to-please extended to us by the lady who appears to be the chef/cook. She was so nice! We sat at an outside table, under the carport. It was very pleasant on the day we were there, Saturday, 10/15. I had one each tacos: carnitas, pastor, and steak on soft, hot corn tortillas, cilantro and onion. The red and green hot sauces were very good, and not so hot that my wife couldn't enjoy them. I like spicy hot, and they were fine. The tacos were accompanied by a basket of chips (hot and crispy, though not my favorite style) and also two salsas: one mild and one warmer. Both were nice and tasty. My wife had 3 beef tacos in crunchy shells. They were a minced beef mixture, with sour cream, and looked like Taco Bell's taco. These are probably the way the locals like them. My wife did too. We also enjoyed the refried beans....
