As far as Mexicans restaurants go the food is not really that much different from one to the next. It seems like the only thing that really changes as far as the food is the salsa. The salsa here lacks cilantro so if you're a cilantro fan then go somewhere else. The service here is excellent. The staff here is 90% Latino and to their credit they all speak English. These guys go above and beyond to make sure that you get quick service and happy service. They are able to provide a relaxed atmosphere while at the same time performing professional and efficient service. The decor is a bit outdated and could use an upgrade and is also on the small side but that lends itself to a cozy environment. El Poncho has been my 'Go to' place for Mexican food, for a long time now. The food is almost always fantastic, and they do not cut corners on the portions. By the time I am full, there's almost always some leftovers. Since Covid took over, I haven't been back inside for a sit down meal, but I still call in an order for pickup quite often. Ordered beef nachos which is literally cheese chips and beef. Was brought a plate of nachos laying in a half inch of oil and water. The light beef I asked for was golf ball sized hard beef pieces.
