Orlando’s South American Restaurant La Casa Vieja

I recently visited this location on a Friday night, hoping to relive some fond memories, but sadly, my experience fell far short of expectations. While the nostalgic decor was a nice touch, the overall visit was marred by a series of disappointments. Firstly, navigating the parking situation was a nightmare, though I must commend the parking employees for their exceptional service. Once inside, however, it was clear that customer satisfaction was not a priority. The service was painfully slow and inattentive, with an unacceptable wait time of over 25 minutes after being seated to acknolegde our precense by the server. To add to the frustration, our appetizers arrived sporadically, without napkins, silverware, or plates for sharing. The lack of basic amenities was disappointing, as was the quality of the food itself—cold, excessively salty, and greasy. Even the drinks fell short, with lukewarm mojitos that quickly became watered down. The final blow came with the mandatory 20% tip for our party of six, including two children. Despite the hefty bill, the experience was far from satisfactory. I sincerely hope that management takes note of these issues and works to improve the overall dining experience. As someone who wants to see this establishment thrive, it's disheartening to witness such a decline in quality. Let's not tarnish the reputation of PR and our people any further—there's potential for greatness, but it requires urgent attention to detail and customer satisfaction.

Casa Vieja, a Puertorican restaurant, is located in South Orange Ave. There's Accessible parking, entrance and bathrooms. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is welcoming. As soon as you walk in, you feel like you are back in the island. The music, the food, the people reminded me of home. You have the choice to sit inside or outside. The outside patio has tables and kid friendly games. Their decor and attention to detail, makes this place feel like you are back in Rincon or Boqueron. The food was very good. I would definitely recommend the alcapurrias de jueves or cornbeef, tostones rellenos de churrasco, mofongo, bacalaitos, hamburger, mofongos rellenos, aguacate relleno, and the stuffed chicken with maduros. Food and drinks are reasonably priced for the portions. If you are a local or you are visiting, this place is a must try. Whether you come with family, friends or coworkers, you will most certainly enjoy this hidden gem. Después no digas que no te lo dije. When you go, tell them "Reviews By SB" sent you. Let's start with the parking. It's very hard to find parking. However, the attendants did good trying to help. Once we went in and stood at the check in desk no one greated us, the 3 ladies were talking amongst themselves trying to figure something out which was work related however no hello or I'll be right with you for about 10 minutes. Then the food, at first I wanted a mofongo with pernil, but they don't have pernil, so the waitress offered me the mofongo with Churrasco instead, not mentioning its about $18 more.. of course I figured it'd be in the range of the other mofongos which were about $15 but no it was $33 for mofongo topped with Carrasco and this heavy creamy garlic sauce that was over powering but it tasted good, just couldn't finish it due to the sauce it was too much... my drink in a plastic dollar store cup was $15... so our total bill for 2 mofongos stuffed, 2 alcapurias, 1 alcohol drink, and 1 juice was $97... that's ridiculous. The alcapurias were delicious and worth the $4.50 price. My husband works in that area often and passes it all the time so he was dying to try it... however we won't be going back due to the prices.. It's not a place you take someone out on a date or a quiet dinner.. The food at Lelos in Deltona is way way better and a fraction of the price... Suggestions for the waitress: Next time, let the customers know the price difference....cause it was not on...

Food is good.. however the service is NOT good and this is why it gets 2 stars. The lady at the front door told us the wait is impossible but if you find a table outside you can seat yourselves and someone will help you. After finding an empty table outside we sat down at one. We saw all the other tables outside continuously getting serviced and we sat and patiently waited about 20 mins before even being acknowledged. We asked the waitress for menus and if she can wipe down the table because it was still dirty from the people prior.. 30 mins went by and I had to get up to ask about the table being wiped down again and the menus. You can see all the waitresses pass by us time and time again and nothing! Then about 15 mins later one came by and wiped it down. DONE! Now we're still patiently waiting on menus. Mind you.. we got there and sat around 7pm (still daylight outside) here it is 8pm (dark outside) and still waiting for service. So after finally getting our table cleaned, it took another 10 mins for the menus to arrive. All the waitresses have bad attitudes! They need some customer service training! Rushhhh.. Rolling your eyes and giving bad attitudes for no reason only lessens your tip. Anyways, we finally ate and left. So even though the food is good the service is terrible. I won't be going back...
