Today a friend and I caught up with one another's lives over lunch at this Orange Avenue Orlando Denny's. Having been here several times previously through the years, but not recently, I noticed how everything was so very clean and neat, whereas before it had been a little worn out. Hearing they were now under new ownership made complete sense. Our server was Shanna who was the perfect server. She seemed to have a good rapport with the kitchen staff and handled my food allergies like a champ. She interacted with us really well and was very personable. She knew instinctively when to interrupt for refills or to check on us and when to leave us deep in conversation. The food was done perfectly as requested, was delicious and well plated. The sausage links weren't my favorite with a heavy rosemary seasoning, but the texture was perfectly as sausage links should be. I've been to other breakfast places where they were dry and unable to be cut without a knife. I will definitely be back again, and I hope Shanna is our server! Quick edit: They have ample parking, but if the Orange Avenue traffic in front of the restaurant is bumper to bumper, here's a hint: enter at the Sunrail station entrance at the traffic light. That road goes behind a few businesses, right into the Sunrail parking lot which connects to the Denny's parking lot. That will save you a lot of hassle getting in/out of the restaurant if you go to the traffic light...
Read moreI came to Denny's with a few friends, and Nancy was our Server, she had the nastiest attitude, I've come across in a long time, and I frequent that location quite a bit. She's very rude & tries to be condescending to what's happening in. I don't want to use the word racist, but that's exactly how we all felt, because she had additional patrons of another race, and her behavior and actions towards them was totally different from what we had experienced. She's too old to be acting in that manner towards anyone regardless of the skin color. I wouldn't recommend this Denny's as long as she's here, or at least during the shifts she's working. Just because they've worked for you for an extended period of time, doesn't give them the right to discriminate and make others feel a certain way. My order came out cold, because it sat in the window, while she chit chatted with her other patrons, never checked on us, and at that point, she could've taken the meals back and ate them herself. Denny's please do better, get a younger crew, who actually cares about everyone who comes into that establishment. I expect that type of treatment from the Denny's on Lee Rd., not close to the...
Read moreâ If I could give this Dennyâs negative stars, Iâd be somewhere around â10. DO đ NOT đ GO đ HERE. This place is where breakfast dreams go to be murdered slowly. We walked in at 8 a.m. the âprime timeâ for pancakes and coffee, only to find one server for four tables. Easy shift, right? Wrong. Apparently, we activated her invisibility cloak, because she never acknowledged we existed. We stood there like confused ghosts for five minutes waiting to be seated. Finally we were sat, then closed the menus (the universal âweâre readyâ signal), and still⌠nothing. Not a hello, not a âIâll be right with you,â not even a pity glance. Ten minutes later, we left hungry, angry, and questioning our life choices. IHOP on OBT saved us. Sat immediately, drinks in hand, food on the way in under ten minutes and they were actually BUSY. So no, Dennyâs, itâs not âthe rush.â Itâs you. This location has the energy of a horror movie filmed in a breakfast restaurant eerie silence, missing staff, and customers vanishing after long waits. Save yourself the trauma. Drive past this Dennyâs like itâs cursed. Final Thoughts The only thing hotter than the skillet shouldâve been my coffee, but I...
