Do NOT stay at this hotel!
We had it booked as part of a GoPort package for a post-cruise stay. It isn’t GoPort’s fault that the employees were absolutely awful so I’m not commenting on that piece, but it will not be great if they don’t refund us for the hotel stay (waiting on an answer there).
My first interaction with the hotel, I called from port to see what I needed to do for the shuttle as well as ask about early check-in due to their wacky airport shuttle times. She said that it would be a $20 fee and not guaranteed, but that I could check with the front desk when I arrived to see if there were any available early. The woman on the phone was very rude and repeated herself multiple times when I heard her the first time.
The second interaction with the hotel, I called when we arrived at the airport for shuttle pick-up as directed. The woman on the phone was rude yet again and said that we missed the 9:45am shuttle so we would have to wait until 10:45am. Which, okay fine, but when the hotel is 5 minutes from the airport, the hour gap doesn’t make much sense.
The third interaction with the hotel, I called the front desk again because the shuttle had not shown up and it was 10min past the time they had stated it would be. Again, I was patronized about not following directions and waiting, when I was standing in the exact spot she directed.
The fourth interaction with the hotel, the shuttle driver was an absolute monster. He was rude when we confirmed if he was in fact the driver for the best western, because there was no labeling on the car he was in.
The fifth and final interaction with the hotel was what did it. I went to the front desk as directed and let them know that I was there and interested if a room became available before 4pm. She said, “As I told you before when you were here, that isn’t guaranteed and it’s a $20 fee.” I let her know that I was just following the directions from the woman on the phone and she said, “But you were here 2 days ago so I already told you before.” And I said no, in fact I wasn’t here 2 days ago, as I was on a cruise and at my parents’ timeshare before that. Which shut her up pretty quick.
Anyway, needless to say, I wasn’t staying there tonight. I have never been so unhappy with service that I called and booked somewhere else...
Read moreWorst Best Western experience ever. We almost always stay at best western and this was terrible. We reserved 3 rooms. Two of the rooms were two bed queen room suites that are supposed to sleep 5/6. In the hotel description it states that king and queen suites have sofa beds. In the pictures of the room I reserved it shows a sofa bed. Upon getting in to the rooms there was no sofa bed. Going back down to ask we were told that this hotel does not offer rooms with sofa beds and they did not have roll a way beds either. The rooms were reserved for 5 but there was only sleeping for 4. I called best western corporate and they tried to call the manager on duty who did not answer so that this could be addressed. They were going to send a message to management to come talk to us and no one ever did. |This hotel also states that they have free shuttle to the airport, while that is true you have to sign up the night before and they only let you put 6 on the list. We had 14 with us that needed to go. The rest is first come first serve and they pick up from other hotels first (they are the last stop) so even if you have 6 on the list for pick up you are not guaranteed a spot. When the driver came to get us he was so rude. I don't think I have met anyone as rude as him ever. half our party was able to get on the shuttle the others had to take the bus from right in front of the hotel. The shuttle van sits right in front of their hotel and only goes one time an hour. It also fits 20 people so plenty of room and it could make more then 1 trip an hour if it didn't pick up from other hotels.|The pool was full of leaves and we asked if they could be cleaned out and we were told no, there was not enough staff. So we cleaned it ourself. |The fan in one of the double queen rooms was so loud it was hard to sleep. If the fan was off it was to hot to sleep. |It took 30 minutes to check in (no joke) the employee didn't speak much english and didn't seem to know what...
Read moreWe used the park and fly with this hotel. We checked in Wednesday, took the shuttle to the airport Thursday morning, left my car at the hotel, returned Sunday evening, took the shuttle to the hotel and stayed the night. First the good-the park and fly rate was great, the location was decent (close to a few restaurants), the shuttle was clean and convenient, the hotel was clean and the beds were fairly comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. The bad-while the location was nice, getting in to it was very difficult with the amount of traffic there was and, even though there were restaurants that were within walking distance, it wasn't an area you would necessarily want to walk in at night or alone. It was quite loud outside our window late Wednesday night when some workers in trucks were playing music and talking. They messed up our room both nights...I booked a king and was put into a queen room both times. The king suite we finally got the first night had no couch. The a/c was very loud as was the fridge on the second night. The shuttle runs at specific times which led to having to go to the airport an hour earlier then necessary and waiting at the airport an hour to be picked up. We didn't get to have breakfast the first morning because we had to leave so early for the airport. The second morning I was excited for breakfast because I didn't eat dinner the night before due to getting back at almost 10:30pm. Pictures online show a hot breakfast...what was offered was barely a continental breakfast. They had cereal, toast, a couple muffins, yogurt, oatmeal packets (but no hot water) and apples with watered down juice and coffee. I was so disappointed to say the least. It's a good deal for the park and fly but I am not sure I would...
