The Village Cafe — Restaurant in Pinehurst

I was disappointed that they didn’t have any breakfast steaks like a ribeye or t-bone. There’s nothing like steak and eggs for breakfast but they only had country fried steak and that was definitely a no go. What made up for having no steaks was everything else! Bacon; phenomenal flavor, eggs; cooked to perfection, biscuits and gravy;..……..heavenly, shredded potatoes with mushrooms and onions and those sinful pancakes. I couldn’t stop eating the things. They’re about as addictive as crack but far more delicious and legal! I won’t go to prison for consuming them. The only thing my wife and I thought was out of place was the lack of service. Our server (who was accommodating) dropped off our food and we didn’t see anyone again. No refills, no “how is everything?” Nothing. The first several times I went in, mainly on Thursdays for the spaghetti, special, was absolutely wonderful! My toddler enjoyed every bite of his food! The staff was extremely friendly and very helpful to me and the little. I skipped a few months and went on random days. Breakfast lunch. I started having issues with my meals. Service always good. The food got so bad For me I just quit going completely. I was so sad because I really like this café and I love supporting it. In the Pinehurst area for a golf weekend and Google searched breakfast places and The Village Cafe came up, good ratings so four of us went to grab a late breakfast. Very nice place, clean, and nice people working there. I got the Traditional breakfast plate, two eggs, hash browns, toast and the meat choice was the Liver Pudding. Never had it, the nice waitress said it was a "rectangular mush". I was not sold until she said some people think it’s like "Scrapple". Sold! I like Scrapple when I can find it, it was basically the same thing, the presentation of it was not the greatest on the plate. Otherwise it was good! Would go here...
