The Village Wine Shop: Pinehurst — Restaurant in Pinehurst

Our experience with the owner of this venue for our wedding reception was disappointing. Communication leading up to the event was poor and inconsistent, making planning stressful. I was frantically looking for a different venue a week before the event because of unanswered emails, calls, and messages.

On the day of the event, the AC was not working. The venue had not been cleaned and prepped properly. The caterer had to wipe down the buffet tables before sitting out the food. We were unable to take photos before the event, as planned, because we were all cleaning, including the photographer. Once the party started and we were able to take pictures, we all looked a mess because we were hot and sweaty from cleaning the venue and no AC.

We had guests drive in and fly in from other areas for this party. Our event was small but it was special to us and deserved more attention than it was given...at the very least, open communication and a clean space. In addition, we left a personal item at the venue and it took 5 1/2 weeks to retrieve it because the owner couldn't be bothered to respond or allow access.

This level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable and unfortunately caused disappointment and stress. I do not recommend working with the owner...

Cute wine and coffee shop! Would have given five stars because their selection is great. However, when my friend and I went for a glass of wine one night the employee started asking us and the rest of the customers to leave about an hour before they closed. She kept coming over and asking if we were almost done and even started turning off the lights and music while we were still in the store. Had it been a few minutes before close I would’ve understood but she closed about 40 minutes earlier than their advertised hours. Will likely give this place...

My wife and I stop by last Friday afternoon for a wine tasting and had a great time. Gwen and the rest of the team were super friendly and made us feel right at home. Saturday she took some of our friends back with her while the guys were golfing and had even more fun.
