Unprofessional & dishonest!
I've eaten several times at this local pizza place... Not going to lie, the pizza is good. Unfortunately, the service is terrible & unfriendly. Our waitress tonight was particularly rude, and definitely lacking any sense of urgency.
Not to mention, my bill is wrong EVERY SINGLE time I eat there... Needless to say, never in my favor. I've never said anything about it before, until tonight. I asked if the cashier could tell me the price for a large plain pie, which she did: $9. How much per topping? $2. So why did my large one-topping pizza ring up $14? It wasn't a specialty pie or anything, but somehow it became pretty pricey.
I told the cashier I thought I had been rung up wrong, and out of nowhere, the manager appears, yelling at me for questioning the check. (And yes, I mean literally yelling... Loudly enough to draw the attention of other customers sitting nearby). He immediately told me my bill couldn't be wrong, despite not knowing what I had ordered or asking what the problem was. He told me I had an attitude (although the attitude only came after he said that). Then he called me an a**hole. I know that sounds crazy, and I am in total disbelief that it happened. But it certainly did. (Incidentally, I am a 120-lb female... Not that it's ok to talk to any customer like that, but it's worth mentioning).
Anyway, I see that this guy doesn't care about my check & certainly isn't going to make any adjustment to it, even though it's clearly wrong according to their own menu. So, more than a little shaken up, I walk back to my husband and toddler sitting on the other side of the restaurant. They couldn't see any of what had just happened due to where they were sitting, so I told my husband what the manager had said & we walked toward the door.
My husband stopped & asked the manager if he had used profanity toward me, and he said no. (His comments had been clear as day; there was no mistaking either his tone or his words). 30 seconds later, after my husband said that he doesn't think I was lying about it, the manager yells "go f* yourself" to my husband. In front of our son, no less, not to mention the rest of the restaurant.
Needless to say, we left. My son wanted to know why the man was being so mean to Mommy. My husband is going back tomorrow to speak to the owner, although the manager already told us we're "welcome to try." He said he's been working there for 25 years, and he's not going anywhere. And unless I'm very much mistaken, he was on the phone with his boss while he yelled that last choice phrase at my husband.
They make good pizza, but so do a ton of other places in the area (this is Jersey, after all). We don't need to go anywhere where it's ok to treat people that way... And we hope you...
Read moreI love this restaurant! I have now been there twice and look forward to going again when I am in the area. The portions are substantial. Prices are reasonable for the quality provided. Service is welcoming, friendly and efficient. Rest rooms, tables and floors are clean. From the outside it looks like a regular pizza place in a strip mall. But right inside the door is a wood-burning oven. And off to one side is a bar area. Those two features tell you right away that the owner is serious enough about pizza and hospitality to invest in these features. One section has a big-screen tv and seating where it would be comfortable to hang out for a while, watch a game on tv and enjoy some good Italian food. Or for a date or dinner out with family and friends, sit on the other side in the dining area that adjoins the bar area. The owner’s pizza crust and toppings recipes are amazing. The pizza is hands down the best thin crust pizza I have ever had. The pizzas I have tried so far are the plain, diavolo (spicy, tangy, tender peppers) and a combo sausage (shaved) & fresh mushroom. They were all delicious, and even with lots of toppings the crust was crispy and without any char. The fresh pasta dishes are excellent and well worth the small additional charge. Chicken parm was a popular dish among our group. The antipasto and caesar salads were fresh and delicious. The desserts I tried, chocolate mousse cake and cannoli, were fresh...
Read moreOrdered from them thrice, would not be returning. Every time I ordered pasta, the 1st order was so good I went two more times. 2nd time they disappointed me with angel hair pesto, it tasted almost bad and super garlicy, and the complimentary Cesar salad was a fail, the sauce was weird. Foul tasting food. 3rd attempt I went back to what I ordered the first time around, hoping it be just as good but was disappointed again. I ordered fettuccine Alfredo, the sauce was on the bottom, all liquidy, no creaminess and the pasta was overcooked with no salt or flavor, I mixed everything, hoping it will taste good, it tasted ok, hence the two stars but I found plastic pieces (like a transparent bag or something cut into my food) not just once, but twice. Like what? Not returning because like everybody I’ve had ok tasting food, and I’ll eat it to fill my stomach but literally the last two orders, I ate 30%, garbaged 70% so it’s not worth it in my opinion. The price point ain’t great either. They charge for food plus if it’s a take out, they charge you for the takeout box. Makes no...
