The food is great and has never been a problem. It's not as hot as it could be sometimes, but we are pretty far away. The issue I have is with the service. The managers are terrible and they have no idea to take care of valuable customers. I was in the pizza business for 20 years and NONE of these managers would be working for me. They have absolutely ruined 3 dinner parties for us. The first was on a Sunday some time ago, maybe 2 years. We had guests at our house and ordered Marcos's because the food has always been good. After waiting 2 hours we began to call and no one would answer the phone. I called all night maybe 15 or 20 times and no one would pick up. Our guests went home hungry. So I called back a few days later to tell them what happened and they said they couldn't do anything about it because I didn't call when it happened. How can I do that when no one would answer the phone? That made us so mad we went a year without spending a dime there. Then we gave them another chance. Started ordering regularly probably at least once a month until about a few weeks ago, we had more guests and decided to order pizza, again on a Sunday evening . After waiting 2 hours, we called and the Manager said our order had been picked up by DoorDash. We didn't order thru DoorDash so I suppose they were short a driver. Another hour went by and no food. I called back and the manager said she would give me a refund. Only she couldn't figure out how to do it since I ordered online. So instead of a refund, she said my next order will be free. I asked if I needed a reference # or something like that and she said no, there will be a note here with your name and address. So last night, another Sunday evening, again with house guests, we called to order pizza and get our free order. The person that answered said they were not the manager and they had to call him to ask him what to do. He got back to me and said since it had been "so long ago" that they couldn't do anything for me. It had been 3 weeks. 3 weeks since they screwed us out of our $. Then he said I could come in and they would give me a discount. A discount! Then he said the manager would call me. I said tonight? He said yes. I said he better call me right now. I hung up and waited 15 or 20 minutes with no call then I called them back. They said the manager said he would call me tomorrow. Again, so the 3rd time we had no food for dinner and our guests went home hungry. I paid for our order, on 1/5. I paid the delivery fee, the tax, and even ADDED AN $8.00 tip the driver will never see. This place is a rip off. Straight thieves if you ask me. They will NEVER see another penny from me and my family. Everyone in Pittsboro, be aware. They have no problem taking your money and NOT delivering your food. I'm done with charity towards them. Read moreOn Sunday night, January 20, 2019, we placed an order online at 5:46 PM with the Marcos Pizza store at 112 Russet Run, in Pittsboro, NC, 27312, with scheduled delivery between 6:30 PM - 6:40 PM.
When the pizza had not arrived by 6:45 PM, we called just to check on the order and were told they were very busy and short on staff, but that the order was being packed up now and heading out the door. As an FYI, we live about a 10 minute drive from this Marcos location.
When our order had not been delivered by 7:10 PM, we called the store again. The shift manager said he didn’t know what had happened to the order and that it should have arrived. He said they would remake the order, that it would only take about 15 minutes and would be out the door shortly.
We called again at 7:45 PM when the order had still not shown up. The shift manager said it was out for delivery. He even placed us on hold and supposedly called the driver who said he was making one other delivery that was on the way to our house, and then our house was the next stop. Again this was at 7:45 PM and we live about a 10 minute drive from the store.
At 8:35 PM still no delivery. We called back and were told by the driver, who was now back at the store, that he couldn’t make the delivery because he didn’t have our address. This was unbelievable because we were required to enter our address into their online system. We were also required to enter our phone number into the online system, and at no time did anyone ever call us to ask for directions.
Since at this point it had been almost 3 hours from the time we first placed our order, and it still had not been delivered after two failed attempts, we told them not to attempt to remake the order a 3rd time! We will never order from Marcos again! Ever! Great food....
