Ni Armors Hawaiian and Polynesian bbq — Restaurant in Pittsboro

I'd probably rate this food a 4 - 4.5 if I could. Drove from Durham after seeing a TikTok. Been in the mood since I saw a Charlotte food tour video that showed some delicious Hawaiian food so this was my introduction to it. Was it worth the drive, maybe not to most, but I personally would come again. Ordered a 3 meat plate. The meatballs were a 10 out of 10, the pork was delicious, but the chicken was slightly bland. Mind you everything tasted fresh and there was a slight wait for the food! However they let us wait in the car and brought it out to us. Everything was nice and hot. There is some seating outside but there is no dine in option. Drive thru as well. Also had a spam item that was surprisingly not too salty, flavorful, and affordable. Their rice was perfectly cooked and they had a lot of sauce options. We ordered 2 different kinds but only received one kind unfortunately. It was delicious though. Very homemade tasting! Not too sweet. My partner is vegetarian and wish there was more options, but we checked out the menu before coming. They had rice, veggies, and the Mac salad. The Mac was a bit salty unfortunately but overall everything had good flavor. The price for portion size was awesome! Had some leftovers. Me and my boyfriend tried this place for the first time today! He had seen them on TikTok and wanted to give it a try since we were in the area. I looked at their menu online and was a little disappointed with the limited choices of sides, but honestly after giving them a try I understand that even though the variety isn’t the highest the quality is absolutely there!! I ordered the 2 meat and 2 sides with fried shrimp and meatballs while my boyfriend ordered the solo plate that had short ribs, chicken and pulled pork. The food is amazing!! The fried shrimp were big and they weren’t just breading. You got actual shrimp. The short ribs brought me back to when my family would have them at cook outs. You could tell that it had so much love put into it. The pulled pork was my favorite. It’s so flavorful and soft. The chicken for me personally tasted a little too charred but I know some people enjoy that taste. Unfortunately for me the meatballs were just ok. The sweet sauce threw me off but I was informed by my boyfriend that in the south that’s how it’s typically made. The rice and macaroni salad were BOMBBB!!! Genuinely my favorite part of the whole meal. Give this place a try. They are worth the price and worth going to!! They are so very sweet and brought the food out to us. Ni Armors is outstanding!!! I stumbled across this little joint in Pittsboro purely by chance, and I'm sure glad that I did! It's a very unassuming and non-fancy place, but what they may lack in atmosphere, they exceed with their food.

I ordered the 2 meats and 2 sides platter, and I chose BBQ chicken and Polynesian meatballs...along with brown rice and macaroni salad. The extremely polite and helpful young man who took my order recommended the macaroni salad, and I can see why. It was so tasty and so different from any macaroni salad that I've ever had. As for my 2 meats, the chicken was moist, tender, and perfectly seasoned...and the meatballs were very yummy, too! Be sure to try the BBQ and Polynesian sauces with your meal. They both have a wonderful flavor and are perfect for dipping.

In full transparency, I'm deducting two stars from the "Atmosphere" column due to the flies and bees around the outside seating area. Their garbage can didn't have a lid, which is likely the cause. It should be a pretty easy fix, especially since other reviewers commented on it, too. That issue aside, it was an A+ dining experience, and I will...
