I will never return here again. The food is great when you get it. Tonight was my last visit and it's because of the service. I haven't eaten here in probably 6 months because it takes forever to get your food. Tonight we decided to give it another shot because after a long day of kids extracurricular activities it was getting late and most places were closing. Guada was scheduled to be open another hour and 10 min. I talked my wife into giving it another chance. They were not busy and there was plenty of tables empty. They promptly seated us and took our order. After about 20 min I had finished my drink and was looking for a refill. The kids had consumed the chips and salsa and we still did not have our appetizer queso. I started to notice tables that were seated long after us getting their food. After about 45 min of not having our waiter come back to refill waters or see if we needed anything I decided to check with a girl at the front. She didn't even see an order for us. I could tell from her end it was like we wasn't even there. I paid for the one warm beer I had and decided I couldn't keep the kids out late. Their mom is now in our own kitchen trying to scratch something up for them this late on a school night for them to eat so they can get to bed. I would like to think this might have been an off night but from Guadas opening they were my favorite and we slowly quit eating here because I'd the terrible service. I will never eat here again. El Charro is king. I should have trusted my guy and drove there on the other...
Read moreSo, I know what good Mexican food is, I'm gonna preface my review with that. I'm from CA and relocated to Pittsburg literally day before yesterday. I was initially concerned about how I was going to live without delicious and authentic CA Mexican food. Holy crap! This place is the first restaurant we have eaten at in town that wasn't fast food, got takeout because we are still unpacking. I called in my order, the girl who answered the phone was very friendly, took my order and told me it would be about a 5-10 minute wait, just enough time for me to immediately walk out my door, get into my car and drive down there. After a very short wait my food was ready. I paid, got in my car and drove home. What a pleasant surprise when I opened up the containers of food! I'd post pictures but I've been home for 15 minutes and there isn't any food left! It was absolutely delicious, I don't have any worries about where I will get my fix. Their service is fast, friendly and done with a smile from start to finish. They even wrote "Welcome to Pitt :)" on our to-go containers because I said we had just moved here! This is my go-to Mexican food spot from this...
Read moreI have eaten there 3 times. Will never go again.
1st time - a couple weeks after they opened. Manager in bathroom didn't wash his hands after urinating. Same manager swept and then grabbed my drink to refill it. Sat at a table in the middle of a room where it felt like you were on display. The lighting is bright and cold. They used a cleaning product on the surrounding tables that had a very strong chemical smell the whole time. Food came out at different times. My friend got something wrong on his order. There were no apologies given. Food was mediocre.
2nd time - Near closing time, went to the restroom...a cook was in there and then didn't wash his hands...seriously. I ordered food anyway and had another mediocre experience.
3rd time - Nothing significant.
4th time - There won't be one. I gave them 3 chances and on two of those, a manager and cook didn't wash their hands after using a toilet or urinal. I doubt I caught the only two times that has ever happened. The other Mexican places in town are much better by far. I don't support a business that has no concern...
