I had never eaten at Mazzio’s before and, I have to say, I was impressed! The salad bar is so full of goodies your bowl is full before u can get everything u want. And the pizza is hot and really good. The pasta was perfectly cooked. The best part of it all was the politeness of our waiter. He was a joyful and kind guy who seemed genuinely concerned with our being satisfied. Nice clean place and calm atmosphere. I’ll for sure be going again! Thanks
Jump forward to today (Oct 6) We’ve been to Mazzios once before and the waiter was excellent. But we went again today because we enjoyed it before. Very different story today! The waitress was spastic and had to ask our order three times. And even came up to me at the salad bar to make sure of what the order was again. We ordered a hand tossed medium pizza with pineapple and canadian bacon. She asked me if We wanted anything more on the pizza and I said “no. Just the canadian bacon and pineapple.” Then she came twice to ask what our drinks were. We had eaten our salads and she came with the pizza and it had jalapeño’s all over it. I can’t eat anything spicy like that so we just sat there and had to holler across the room just to get some help. And I told her we cannot eat the pizza because of the jalapeños and I can’t eat spicy things. If it hadn't been baked down into the pizza it could have been different but it was and so we ended up just having to leave and have her take the pizza off our check. I was annoyed because of the numerous times she asked me for our order specifics yet she still got it wrong. And she had said the salad bar was 4.00 with a pizza and 4.59 on its own. We paid $7 per salad and two dollars for our drinks. $20. And it should have been around $14 with tax. Needless to say, I didn’t tip her. And I didn’t say much, and we just left. Very disappointing! I will notate the shift time (3:30pm) and not venture into Mazzios at...
Read moreThe Pittsburg Mazzio's is a great place for a quick, tasty, and affordable lunch. They offer a reasonably priced pizza and salad buffet at lunch time.
Their salad bar selections are what you'd expect, but the quality and freshness of the ingredients are both excellent.
The pizza buffet is well stocked with varied and good tasting (pretty much exclusively) thin crust pizzas.
Unlike some other lunch pizza buffets I've visited, these folks can KEEP UP with demand. There's almost never a time when there isn't plenty of pizza on the buffet to choose from. Never seen a scenario where "hangry" patrons with empty plates are all staring at the kitchen, waiting to swamp the buffet when the next pizza comes out. That just doesn't happen at this Mazzio's store.
My only real criticism of the lunch buffet is the fact that they almost never put out a thick crust pizza. Those DO get swamped when there's a rare occasion that they put one out on the buffet. It's too bad. Their thick crust is really tasty. I suspect they are trying to keep profits acceptable while keeping prices low so I'm not going to ding them too hard on how stingy they are with the thick crust dough.
The people are friendly. The service is good, but at lunch, after you get your drink, pretty much everything else on a buffet you do for yourself. But you DO get your drink order taken / delivered quickly.
Would definitely recommend the Pittsburg Mazzio's as a...
Read moreWe were staying with friends for the weekend in Pittsburg so we decided to give this place a shot because who doesn't love pizza? Anyways...the price is a bit high for the lack of variety on the buffet, none of the pizzas are labeled so it was a bit difficult to figure out what was on them, our waitress was too busy playing on her cell phone to bring us as refills and when we asked for the bill she neglected to tell us we needed to pay at the counter. We were willing to over look all of that because we are truck drivers and like to give the benefit of the doubt...until we spent the rest of the day/night in the bathroom. The food made both of us really sick. So sadly we will never be back...
