The Waterfront Grill & Cafe — Restaurant in Pittsburg

I can’t believe I’ve been around Pittsburgh for many years and not once have I been here. The restaurant is situated with a Waterfront View which I love. There is plenty of parking. There is indoor and outdoor seating. We decide to sit outside. Be prepared to deal with the wind.

The food we ordered tasted amazing. It was funny because we all ordered pasta. Pasta with shrimp and chicken and Pesto Pasta. They were all amazing. We also ordered calamari and garlic bread, also no complaint there.

I give the service 2 stars. Our waiter which shall remain nameless was a bit grumpy. We came for brunch and the guy was already in a bad mood (my opinion). Anyway, I’d never been at the restaurant and me and my family were catching up. I wasn’t sure what to order.

He basically told me to hurry up and order otherwise we may have to wait in line cause there are other customers. Well obviously! Anyway, that was rude. Next, I checked in on the Yelp app and a coupon popped up. The same waiter that waited on us said, they no longer honor those Yelp discounts (maybe it should be taken down). People will be disappointed if they can’t use it. But, he did let me use it.

Overall experience was just ok. The ambiance and the food made up for the mediocre service. Maybe next time will be better. I’m not giving up...

When we were first seated ants were all over my table, seating is outdoors and there was some syrup on the table that attracted them. Took some time to get our orders in, afterwards we waited close to one hour to get our food. When they bright it or one if the dishes had a hair in it the other was not prepared correctly, my daughter is vegan they didn’t remove the meat from the Sandwich she order the replacement then had mayo. It didn’t seem that we had a dedicated server which complicated things my Mimosa was predominantly syrup. In their Instagram they have pictures of cute drinks but none of that was on the menu, there were specials none of that was communicated to us. The food was bland. They ended up taking off the sandwich my daughter ordered and the food that contained a hair but my overall experience was disappointing and I was really looking forward to having a new spot to frequent. I will stick to Lumpy’s the servers were nice and pleasant but that’s as about it. There was also an upcharge to add sausage to an omelette my friend ordered that she was never...

Food is great. And they have the best waffles. Then why two stars? The service was horrible. First, there’s no price on the menu. You can ask the server how much and they will tell you but he said the omelette is 15 bucks and we ordered it. He asked what kind of cheese, we said cheddar. Then it’s two dollars extra. (We were never told). I ordered coffee and had to ask for a refill (at this point, I thought they were gonna charge for that too). Their waffles looked good so we ordered one. I asked another server how much and the answer I got was “I don’t know but not much”. On the bill, one single waffle was $10 dollars. Again, food was great and the portion was huge too. But I don’t want to get a bill with unexpected charges and I certainly didn’t enjoy asking for prices per each item. Even if you ask, the bill will surprise you. I won’t...
