Herf Cigar Lounge at St. Claire’s — Local services in Pittsburg

I was informed via email by the owner of St. Claire's that my membership was being revoked for an unspecified reason. In addition, I was told thay my future business is no longer needed nor welcomed. From my knowledge I have been nothing short of a loyal and upstanding member, and a positive example of being a member of this cigar lounge for many years. To be told in this fashion and with no explanation shows a lack of professionalism and credibility by the owner. I have had nothing but positive things to say to others whom I have met over the years about the lounge, and to patron this establishment.

After asking why I was being kicked out as a member the owner informed me that I never purchased cigars from her business. In fact that that was a false statement and I was told I was a liar. My reputation means alot to me and when someone attacks my integrity, especially when I feel I am not in the wrong I will defend it. It is not difficult for me to admit when I am wrong buy I will never admit to something I have not done.

Previously I have approached the the owner in the past to express my concerns regarding the lounge, being a member and suggested somethings that could be improved. It fell on deaf ears. I was also accused of not purchasing cigars I had ordered because I didn't go through the humidor to find my order, according to the owner. If a customer orders something they should be notified by the owner that their order has arrived. This never occurred...sad.

I would drive from SF to Pittsburg, 50 miles one way to smoke at the lounge, when there are lounges closer to me. Loyalty to this establishment. I was not traveling there because of the great customer service or the phenomenal cigar selection, but because of the great cigar smokers I was able to interact with.

I was one of the last members from a group of about 25 who left the lounge after the owner basicly kicked them out as well. Lack of customer service, lack of loyalty, dysfunctional atmosphere and a feeling of your money is not good enough has been prevalent. Customers are not a priority here, and it shows and is obvious to all who come here. Hospitality ends after your money is spent. You will see this wolf in sheep's clothing real personality after repeat visits.

My reputation at the following cigar lounges speaks for itself: Occidental, Telfords, Danville Cigars, Ohlones, the Loft in Walnut Creek and San Mateo, Hatuey, Cassillas,, Napa Cigars, & Corona Club to name a few. All these places are just a few where I have smoked in locally and around the world as a cigar smoker of over 30 plus years. I have never felt more disrespected to be singled out by a business than I have at St. Claire's Cigars.

My money is welcomed everywhere except here. A burden has been lifted wondering what is going to go wrong today or what mood is she in today. Finally, shop and patronize this place at...

I'm currently sitting in my backyard listening to my favorite blues artists and enjoying a La Gloria Cubana Serie R Maduro #6. I would not be doing this but for the outstanding customer service that I received by Ronell and Brian earlier this evening. Allow me to provide context. I went by earlier this evening unaware their closing hours had changed for Saturday. I pulled up and saw Ronell not closing up, but was actually getting into her vehicle to leave! I still proceeded to the front door to confirm the hours of operation. When I got there Brian had opened the door for me to enter and make a selection. I was told they were closing early due to a slow evening. I was allowed to make my selection, never once feeling rushed to do so. We made pleasant small talk while I was being checked out. If this isn't the epitome of outstanding customer service, then I don't know what is! Not that it should matter, but I'm a man of color, and in all the years that I have made purchases here, color hasn't matter! This shop will continue to be my go to local shop. They have earned both my respect and business. If you are a beginner reading this review, you can't go wrong with the advice offered for your selections here. I noticed the negative reviews didn't provide much context. Hopefully this unsolicited review will set the record straight and provide the necessary context. I was recently invited to this nice cigar lounge by a friend who lives nearby to watch the Sunday Night NFL game between Packers & Lions. I was very impressed by the quality selection of premium cigars in the well-stocked walk-in humidor. The staff was friendly and attentive. The other patrons were welcoming and having a great time. This place has a great vibe for those looking to enjoy themselves. I purchased several premium cigars including a Padron 1926 Series Natural, a Cohiba Macassar and a couple of Avo Classic #6's to restock my humidor.
