I went there this evening 15 mins before close, I was looking at the menu and the help who was anxious to get off at 9 pm kept saying are you ready to order, I had just pulled up, and advised her I was trying to see exactly the way to place my order, after the 3rd time of telling her and also advising her there was no one behind me, she rudely said, “Well we close in 15 mins”. At that point they could keep their food, so I continued out of the drive thru to leave, and her and another worker were looking and laughing. I was just going to leave but I than called and asked to speak to the manager, the rude “help” advised I would have to call back tomorrow. I than replied, so there’s no manager available. I than heard a male saying rudely saying something but I couldn’t make out what it was. So I just hung up. I’ve went to the Brighton hot dog shoppe for over 30 yrs(definitely not this one), and it’s ashame that this is one of the last locations open and the customer service is beyond horrible. The food has never been as good as any of the other locations, and the rates go up frequently. And also this is the only location that charges you a percentage of your order to use a card. I definitely do not recommend this location. If you’d like the real “Brighton Hot Dog Shoppe” experience, I’d suggest going to the location on University Blvd in Moon Twp. But if your not up for the drive, “Nana’s New York Hotdog Shop” at 1110 Federal Street Pittsburgh PA 15212, is the best! The food is better, the portions are greater, and they haves larger menu to choose from, as well as a family oriented atmosphere as well as great customer service! I really wish I could’ve given zero stars, but the 1 star was needed just so I could...
Read moreI ordered 2 chili and onion hot dogs and a regular size wedding soup with a vanilla shake. The only thing they got right was the vanilla shake and they gave me someone else’s order…super disappointed. It can’t be that hard to give 3 correct items but obviously it is and checking customer orders before you hand it is too much work.
The girl that took my order at the prompter could care less what I was ordering, there was no friendly service at all throughout my whole time ordering and getting the food. She took the card out of my hand as quickly as I could hand it over and threw the order at me like she had better things to do and just didn’t want to deal with any customers. I even said “thank you have a good night” and she literally scoffed as I was driving off. Girl you handed me someone else’s order and then give ME the attitude…Brighton has always been one of my go to’s and their soup & hotdogs are the reason why I go there. Extremely disappointed and just like everything else in the country no one actually cares about their job or anyone else anymore.
I literally had gone to McDonald’s prior to stopping at Brighton as my husband wanted that instead and I got WAY friendlier service and my Big order of 10 items was all completely correct.
Such a sad experience that i won’t be going back and so angry that I actually wasted money when I should’ve just gone somewhere else and gotten better service! I was so looking forward to hotdogs & soup and instead got someone else’s plain burger (only cheese and tiny bit of ketchup) and soggy cheese...
Read moreDear Brighton Hot Dog Shoppe:
You are one of the greatest places on Earth! And also probably one of the last meals I would devour if I ever decided to go on a diet for more than a day (or go to jail- never happening!)
If you have never been, let me break it down for you:
The burgers: Simple and honest. A griddled fresh beef patty served on a steamed bun and your choice of toppings. And, in my opinion, one of the best burgers around town.
The dogs: Must be ordered with chili and/or cheddar cheese sauce. Onions optional.
The fries: Don’t waste your time on a regular size. Get the large with chili and cheddar cheese sauce.
The cheddar cheese sauce: A condiment I would spread on everything. I recently heard that this magical cheese sauce is made in-house (not confirmed, just word on the street). You can get it two ways: Directly on your fries or served in a tub on the side. If served on the side, it is served COLD. Yes, cold. Something about a fork full of hot fries dipped in this magical cold cheese sauce gets me good…. every time.
You make my heart and stomach full, HDS. But, you also break my heart at the same time. Why? No more hot dog plastic cups. (sigh!)
I still love you...
