I went to Green Tree this afternoon to visit their facility after talking on the phone with Ethan. Ethan informed me I could try the facility out since I've been considering joining, and Anytime Fitness would be perfect because I travel frequently to Washington D.C. I arrive about an hour after I confirmed I have would be coming via phone call, and was greeted by Denise. I could hardly call it a greeting though, because when she saw me she blurted out, "What do you want?" I told her I had talked to Ethan on the phone about a free trial/visit. She told me "they weren't taking free trials and because my license if from Irwin (25 minutes away) I wouldn't qualify anyways. I'm a University of Pittsburgh student, and I can't qualify to test a facility 15 minutes away for a day! Then I asked to speak to the manager, Ethan, who wasn't there at 2 P.M. As an alternative I asked if I could just fill out a waiver and try the gym out for today. She told me there was nothing she could do for me and basically pushed me out of the door. I'm not sure if I was treated this way because of my age (22) but this was an absolutely unacceptable experience and a waste of a drive. I am currently a medical student and its embarrassing how my time was wasted and the way I was treated as a previous future customer. I am calling to contact the owner of the facility as soon...
Read more"Doing what is right" is not the motto of this gym. I was injured at this facility, rupturing a disc that pinched a nerve causing paralysis in my arm. I immediately got surgery in an attempt to get movement back and ended up having a 9 month recovery until I finally began to get movement in my arm again.
There was no compassion from management (Scott Day - Regional Manager). They put a 4 month freeze on my account (and continued to charge my credit card) and then reactivated the account when I was still unable to attend the gym (unknowingly to me). I was told that my cc would be charged until I unfroze my account and receive the amount of months that I paid for free when I reactivated my account. BY THE WAY - THEY REFUSED TO PUT THE FREEZE ON MY ACCOUNT UNTIL I PROVIDED A NOTE FROM THE DOCTOR. When I finally went back to the gym 9 months after the original injury, I was told that I wouldn't have a payment for the time that I was injured. 1 month later they charged my credit card again and wouldn't consider providing additional months. There was no negotiation from management.
This place is a joke. I will never consider joining Anytime Fitness again, nor would I recommend this gym to my...
Read moreThis place is FAR from clean! It used to be spotless, but has gone downhill in the past 18 months. The toilets are typically dirty (they apparently don't know what the toilet brush is for). The activity room floor hasn't been cleaned in months (clumps of hair and dust all along the walls) and worse is the cleanliness of the machines. I go to AF clubs all over world and I see how they are cleaned every hour or 2. Here, the treadmills and windows next to them are covered in dry sweat and dust. I just watched a guy run for 30 min, sweat like crazy all over the treadmill and machine next to it and then barely wipe it down - totally disgusting). For the most part, the workers here either run training sessions or sit in the offices doing nothing. The owners of this place need to motivate them to come out and clean or spend some money for a professional cleaning service.
My final comment is the length of time broken machines sit broken (typically months!?). I have no idea why but I really wonder where my $400+ per year membership fee (plus a laughable $15 per year "facility improvement fee" goes)?!
I am regretting renewing my...
