Sadly, I must say that I have walked my dog past this Deli/Cafe (aka: Cafe 412) several times. I knew it had been closed 4 a while but never paid attention that it re-opened. My dog decided he wants to start crossing the street, (sorta like diapers 2 pull-ups, I'm guessing?) from the opposite side of them, over to their side, & yeppers, ending up right where the deli is located. That's how i I happened to notice they were open again bc i seen movement inside. I cracked open their front door, so that I wasn't being disrespectful and taking my dog inside an eating establishment, and asked if I could have a menu? As i waited 4 menu, I stated that i was very happy to know they were open and wanted to try their food. Only bc mostly bars/bar food within several blocks around me :( & thinking it would be great place to get some lunch/dinner from here, u no smaller sized meals & opposite from the GREASY bar food, that's only here these days. The employee asked me if I would like a little bit of water for my dog because it was a warmer day out and Boomer (yes that's my Cocker Spaniel's name) had his tongue wagging. Presto! Those magic words YES ladies and gentlemen that will get YOU everytime if you are dog owner, respecting the furry angels needs ;) Okay so we declined her water but did walk away with the menu.. Approx 1-2 hours later, I placed an order and I left Boomer at home, and went inside. Wow! Lovely inside. See my pics attached. These pics speak 4 themselves!
** okay I'm done rambling but I'm sure u will see from all the pictures I took that the food is just as wonderful as the atmosphere and also its location, ONLY two blocks from me, YIPEE!! Yes, u gotta try the food here, it's made to UR SPECIFIC ORDER & WONT DISAPPOINT.... your rumbling tummy! And NO I'm not related NOR...
Read moreWell, I hadn’t been to this neighbourhood before, but I made the trip just for this cafe, and I have to say it was totally worth it. I went on a Friday at around 1 PM, which is just an hour before the closing time, and I was the only customer in the entire cafe. The cafe is pretty large with a lot of seating and there are a couple of chairs outdoor as well If you want to grab a coffee outside. The decor is pretty standard and somewhat boring, and I guess this cafe is not something one would consider instagramable. However, I wasn’t really here for the aesthetics. What makes this cafe stand out for me is purely the hospitality. The lady who took my order was the sweetest lady ever and she was extremely nice and welcoming. I ordered a latte and an Italian Panini. The latte was pretty good, but again, nothing extraordinary. The sandwich, however, was stunning. The ratio of meat to bread to sauce was perfect, and this was one of the better Italian sandwiches. I have had in the city so far. There was also a gentleman in the cafe who I am presuming is the co-owner, and he was also extremely nice and asked for my feedback about the sandwich. In a time in age, when we are having less and less conversations with other humans and more conversations with our phones, I found it really special that they made the effort to have a conversation with me and make me feel comfortable and welcome. I’ll definitely be back again and try some other items from their...
Read moreVery nice little local West End Pittsburgh restaurant. About a mile from my home. I was out with my mother and on the way back home she suggested we stop in. In a nutshell the place was smallish inside however it was also very neat and clean. I had an Avocado Toast with Egg. It was very good. Avocado was tasty as was the toast and egg. Everything was perfectly done also. In addition coffee was pretty good. Great little local place. Definitely great for a quick bite. I also found out that it is locally owned. The owner who was the chef actually lives close to me! I see him walking his dog on occasion! 😄Lol.. On my list now of local places that are great little spots for a quick quality bite....
