The first time I went to the breakfast spot it was an enjoyable experience, that’s why we went again! This second time we could tell our server was new, which is no big deal. I work in the restaurant industry as a server so I understand how it is when you’re first starting out, so I give grace. Our server took our drink order and we asked if we could put in our toddler’s order in with the drinks so she wouldn’t have to wait and be occupied eating. We ordered hot teas, which were cold when we received them. Our toddler’s food came out she ate, and we never got our food. We waited about 45 - 50 mins and never received our food, after our toddler got her food. The server never came back to check on us or ask if we needed anything. Within that 45 - 50 mins our server finally came back with another server and that server told use that a menu item we order was unavailable. Now I wouldn’t have been upset, but the fact that our server never came back to check on us and then waited about 45 mins to come back to our table, that’s where I got upset and didn’t want anything else we ordered. Now I understand the server was new which is way I gave her some grace, but seems like she had been poorly trained. As an experienced server with many years there’s the basics of checking on your tables and just making sure they’re okay. The restaurant is not that big so from someone who’s a server, our server could and should have checked on us. The owner did come after we said we didn’t want our food and at that point as someone in the restaurant industry, you over compensate for the customer because you want to do good business. We said we would play for the our toddler’s meal, and I feel that it should have been free due to our experience. Now I will come back, because I want to support the business, I just hope the staff will be better trained, there’s basic things they can do to help the flow of the restaurant that I just didn’t see done. The owner should definitely be more aware of the servers and how long it takes for food to get...
Read moreThe left pancake is the strawberry shortcake the middle pancake banana pudding. The right one was a strawberry cheesecake pancake. All the pancakes were very light and fluffy and the toppings were very flavorful. The strawberry shortcake was probably the weakest of the three but still good. The cream cheese for the strawberry cheesecake pancake was slightly sweetened and was super creamy. The pancakes were great.
They're corned beef hash actually sold out by the time I was able to order and all they had left was the salmon hash so I gave that a shot just to try. I have never had a more flavorful creamy Rich hash as that salmon hash. The hash was done perfect. The sauce made from the salmon was fantastic. The chunks of salmon that was in the sauce was still nice and tender.
I don't know if they made the bread themselves but it was very fresh and it was like a thick slice of Texas toast but rye and just a very nice deep flavor to it.
What I didn't find out until after I got finished eating is they have a secret menu on Instagram so only their Instagram followers see it and they don't advertise it. I only found out about it because the table next to me ordered something that wasn't on the menu which was a Cinnamon swirl coffee that was served with a little mini cinnamon bun on top of it.
And it looked fantastic and apparently they found out about it because of Instagram.
It's either top five or top three of breakfast places I've eaten at based on The hash and the pancakes like I didn't even really need syrup with the banana pudding or the strawberry cheesecake pancakes. The strawberry shortcake pancake I needed syrup because the topping was was strawberries and shortcake so it was a little dry with...
Read moreAlright, let's talk about the 6x I have eaten (or attempted to eat) at this restaurant. First, I want to say, out of those 6x, Id say once the food was actually hot and fresh... But you have to be ready to wait an irrationally long time in order to experience the food. Even though the food is delicious, the service... Sweet Jesus it is pretty awful.
Out of each of the 4x we have actually eaten at this location, there is ALWAYS staff just hanging around the register/bar. Just sitting, chatting, not really doing anything. Considering you have to wait a hot 30-45mins to get food, this makes me question the efficiency of the kitchen.
Next, 2 out of the 6 times we didn't even get to enter the establishment... One time they were not open when their sign said they were and the second time, we were greeted by the staff telling us that they can't open for another 30mins due to the food not being prepped the night before... Again, the efficiency of the kitchen is poor at best.
Also, word to the wise, avoid during holidays like mothers day. We went this year on mother's day... Ordered drinks, then waited an uncomfortable 45mins for our food, only to be told they had to Wait to defrost the meat because their staff did not pull out enough for the, obviously busy, holiday. We left without eating. I'll say they did comp out drinks, which was the least they could do.
Anyways, the food, if you're lucky enough to receive hot and fresh is amazing. The staff, just fall far...
