This is my family's go-to spot for amazing food, service, and atmosphere to be able to sit and talk and eat together. We like it so much that we bring our co-workers and visiting family/friends and they've come here to eat whenever they're in the area as well.
My usual dish is the Pho Tai and eggrolls, and I could eat it here every day. I usually gauge a Pho place by their basic Pho and broth, and this is one of the best! The portions are generous and the service is un-matched. The broth tastes so good and there is a lot of meat and substance. When my family first started coming here, I'd only come with them maybe once a year since I lived abroad, but Nathan, the owner, remembered my name each time. His kindness and intellect is amazing. I now live in the area and though we do go over to Little Saigon area for other Vietnamese food, coming to Nathan's restaurant is my favorite for Pho. I'm pretty picky with my Pho, and it's pretty amazing that my favorite Pho place is NOT in Little Saigon...it's right here in Placentia!
As far as service...I don't think you'll find amazing service like this in any other restaurant big or small. Even during rush hour everyone is well attended to. Nathan the owner comes out to serve and greet and he really makes you feel like VIP every. single. time. We as customers totally take it for granted. I don't know how he does it but him and his staff/management...
Read moreI came here for the first time yesterday and was pretty impressed with the food. Service was nice and friendly. It would have received higher ratings if it weren’t for the fact that I tried to come in tonight and Google Maps says that they don’t close until 9:00pm. However, when I arrived at 8:37pm, a lady came in to pick up an order whereas I came in to order togo. The man working told me they were closed and so I left extremely disappointed. If they intend to advertise closing at a certain time, then they should not be turning away customers. Please change your hours based on what you’re actually working so that customers aren’t coming in and...
Read moreI had a soup that tasted mediocre at best (and I mean the broth, everything else was great, even the fried onions, except for huge chunks of surimi sticks maybe) and the side with bean sprouts and basil leaves looked like it had been sitting on this plate the whole day. Blackened sprouts heads and air-dried cuts of the jalapeno slices. Well, gee, thanks, who knows whose plate that was before it became mine? And I also had a dish of "tofu and mushrooms" from the menu, which had zero mushrooms in it. I mean, it was an hour before the closing time, but come on. There are far better pho places nearby, they do close earlier, so...
