3 cabbage rolls. Almost 18$$ No wonder the place is empty the cabbage rolls were just OK there was no rice in the meat like Cabbage rolls are supposes to have .Nor a combination of pork with ground beef like cabbage rolls are suppose to have . It was a meatloaf wrapped in a cabbage leaf. Not to mention the directions .Put in oven at 350 for 45 -50 min.. .... ....They needed to cook for at least 2 hours in sauce and covered to soften the cabbage What was worse was the attitude I got from the lady when she seen my eyes popped out when i saw the price for 3 of them .".Something wrong? .FYI I can make a Dozen cabbage rolls for 18 bucks just like my moms from the old country... Not the first time i felt uncomfortable and watched out of the corner of the eye which is really what made me respond . I was getting fruit at the neighborhood store,It was on the outside sign as the special of the day .thought id save myself the hassle and support the Local neighborhood store. I can tell by the response and your lack of empathy that you don't need my...
Read moreI needed some venison stew meat. I called the store and they told me they didn't have any that day, but they will have some the following day. I asked how much was per pound and they told me $9 or $10, though he wasn't sure, but since their ground venison was $8.99, the stew meat wouldn't be much more. They asked how much I needed and they would package it for me so it would be ready to go the next day. I told them 8 lbs, I gave them my number and when I showed up the next day to pick it up, it was all nicely packaged and waiting for me. HOWEVER, they price was $16 per lb (almost double what they quoted me) and when I argued about it they said it was because it was brought it especially for me and it's very lean, etc.. No way! I had called to check their stock and they told me they would get some the next day. It wasn't especially for me. I don't mind paying the price for good quality meat, but tell me upfront. They new I needed it and would buy it, so they upped the price on me. Not a nice way to do business. Will not go...
Read moreI was driving an hour to a butcher in IN. and decided I should try and look closer to home. Little did I know, Tischler's was basically right down the street! I have been in several times now and have always had a satisfying experience from the staff to the quality of their meats. While everything is exceptional (and I am very fussy about meat),I can tell you you will never find better chicken elsewhere. Black & Bleu burgers are very hearty and out of this world, as well as their seasonal Apple Brats. They also have fun appetizer/grill items (bacon wrapped!) such as Pig Shots, Armadillo Eggs, Cuban Cigars, and more. There are plenty of other offerings as far as seasonings, marinade, sauces, small selection of grocery essentials, and a deli case. Their slogan is "Friends don't let friends eat supermarket meat" and I couldn't agree more. The extra cost at a butcher for their high quality meat vs. a grocery store is so worth it here! Tischler's...
