How can I give this restaurant five stars overall when I awarded three stars only to the food? Simply put because of the service / personnel and customer service. I ordered a steak dinner, medium rare, and it arrived medium well. Way way overcooked to my liking and leaning heavily to well done overall. Upon showing the sliced meat to Christina, our waitress, she agreed immediately and offered to have the kitchen replace without hesitation. I declined as I did not want my wife's meal to go cold and advised her that I would eat it as is but that I appreciated her reaction. Two minutes later the manager , Genesis, comes to my table and expresses her apologies and offers once again to have the entire meal replaced. I once again decline for reasons stated above. She was apologetic. Courteous and professional. Once again I was impressed and appreciative of how this was handled. After we finished our dinner Christina offers us compted deserts of our choice to which we declined the nice offer because we were full So now after a few minutes Christina brings the bill for the dinner and the establishment/Christina, has removed the steak dinner off the bill ( after I had eaten all the veggies and most of the steak). This very kind gesture was immediately followed up by the manager Genesis, once again returning to the table as we were leaving with a compete new steak dinner cooked to my preference. Oh my goodness! So she had it wrapped and I was able to take it home. This is unbelievable service by our waitress-Christina/Unbelievable customer service by the manager Genesis. The end result was an unbelievable first of a kind experience for my wife and I. Mistakes happen however what counts and what matters is how the establishments react afterward. Five stars and more at Barrel and....
Read moreMy boyfriend, and I came here for the 1st time to celebrate Valentine's yesterday, and everything was 15/10! We had arrived there at 6:40 p.m. due to the weather, we were seated and ordered the steak and duck breast. The steak was really good. Cooked and seasoned wonderfully. Now, duck was a new pallette I wanted to try and due to my taste buds was not my favorite. I will try more things on their menu though because of how good everyone was to us. Our server, JUSTIN, was Excellent. He was very attentive, informative about menu options and had a great personality. Where my boyfriend and I were seated, the table in front of us, were a louder, insensitive group of people. Not only did the staff pick up on some of the things that were said, but JUSTIN heard, and was concerned for our experience. Even the manager, GENESIS, wanted to apologize, confirm, and ask if we wanted to move tables or needed anything to make our experience more enjoyable. She also let us choose a dessert after the kitchen closed to make up for it. Then, on top of that, TIM, another manager, came over after that specific group left, and apologized for their behavior, and wanted to make sure we were happy and didn't need anything before we left. He also noticed a few other things regarding our food and added more specials on top of what we already received! These individuals, JUSTIN, GENESIS, & TIM were absolutely Phenomenal! We will definitely be coming again and will recommend to anyone that asks!...
Read moreI’m sad because I wanted to love this place. It’s a cute restaurant and the vibes inside are beautiful. They also have a ton of gluten free options. The design of the entrance was done poorly. I was outside for ten minutes trying to figure out how to get in as was two other women. When you walk to the front the door is tucked in next to a door that says “use other door” but if you don’t get close enough you won’t see it, so you’ll inevitably walk to the back.
The food was underwhelming. I wanted truffle fries and got large potato wedges with a truffle sauce on the side. This is not what truffle fries are. Fries are thin and long, wedges are chunky - which is what these were. When I asked about it, they said “I don’t think we have wedges on the menu.” Yes, yes they do. If these fries are wedges then are wedges whole potatoes? Also, most truffle fries have the seasoning on them with a dipping sauce as well.
I find some of these “high end” restaurants try to make the food fancy by creating something different than what you’re expecting, but if you change a fry to a wedge, it’s just a frustration instead of something you’re enjoying. Just keep it simple.
Not many restaurants can nail the food, ambiance and the service all in one. I hope this place...
